"really enjoyed our stay at Schlosshotel Steinburg. Our room was beautiful and charming, though a bit small — something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage. There’s no elevator, but that’s noted in the small print, and we didn’t mind. While there’s no air conditioning, there was a fan provided in the room, which helped keep things comfortable. "This is a budget hotel useful for overnight stays during longer roadtrips. Unfortunately, in my case the hotel sold one of the two rooms I booked to another person before I arrived, so my family was left stranded and had to look for another place at 10pm. Not great."

"A tall modern hotel near the train station - it is one stop more or less on a tram from the train station, and close enough to walk unless you have oppressive amounts of baggage. Nice breakfast, but not much in the way of dining around that I saw. There was a Lidl across the street where you can get inexpensive food to eat in your room. Downtown Wuerzburg is a few stops away on the tram to the Juliuspromenade stop. The 4 stop ticket for 1.50 euros will cover that. "

"I stayed at the Barthels for two nights, arriving after a very long drive and immediately being able to relax. It’s clean, modern, and comfortable and in an incredible location right in the heart of the old town of Würzburg - I could see the cathedral dome right outside my window! Despite that, it wasn’t noisy and I wasn’t ever woken up to the sound of church bells chiming or street noise. There’s no parking at the hotel but there are so many car parks nearby it wasn’t a problem, and I enjoyed the walk across the Old Bridge every morning to the place I’d chosen to park. The staff were friendly and the overall vibe was great. Würzburg is a pretty city and The Barthels was the perfect base to explore it from."
