2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness
Lovely spot, pity about the accommodation
Don't be fooled by the photograph. The cottage isn't the rather interesting one at the end of the terrace. Its mid-terrace and dingy. It could be nice, as Shingle Street itself is lovely, but for the price you'll be paying, its not worth it. There's a long list of issues, so here goes:-
Furniture - ancient and grubby
Bathroom - bath leaks all over the floor. Leak in the roof
Floors - dirty - all sorts of stuff between the floorboard joins
Beds - uncomfortable and quality of bed linen, poor
Rear Courtyard and main entrance - dingy and dirty
Kitchen - utensils felt sticky and all were very old. Kettle was filthy inside. Tea-towels were like cardboard. Hob and oven - not very clean and tacky - no light above, difficult to see when cooking.
Stairs - rickety and potentially dangerous
We left early. Considering other Homeaway properties we have stayed at, which have all been excellent, this was overpriced and throughly disappointing.
