"A pleasant place. No pretensions but clean enough and comfortable (I stayed in the hotel, not the motel, so I don’t know what the motel rooms are like). The staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was surprisingly good. The hotel is a little way outside the cbd so only convenient if you have a car. "Such a friendly welcome. I arrived very early just wanting to leave my luggage but was immediately given an upgrade to a room that was ready. Everything was spotless a nice spacious room with dining area and kitchenette. The ladies were very friendly and helpful. Definitely would come back again "

"Great little boutique hotel. More like a bed and breakfast. Staff were fantastic. The location is quiet with views of the lake. It is a 5 minute walk to the lake are with the restaurants and pubs. The rooms were large and clean but not the most modern. Continental breakfast was included and was very good. Parking is tight. We loved the hotel and returned for 2 additional nights during our stay"

"Dining at the restaurant was a real treat and surperb. Food was fantastic and satisfied both adults and growing teenage boy. Massive meals, highly recommend the sausage platter and share for two. Yet get to try 4 different flavours with the best chips ever. When you see locals coming in and ordering take home meals - you know its good."

"The staff here really saved our trip! We had rented a car in Christchurch for our South Island portion of our trip and unfortunately had a screw wedge into our tire. Over the night we stayed, the tire became flat. We woke up to find this out the next morning, a Sunday, when we were planning to head out of town to our next destination.
