We traveled to Winter Park for a quick, multigenerational, trip over Labor Day weekend. Ages 77, 49, 19, 17 all felt like this was an amazing space. The bunk room could have housed all of us alone but we could easily spread out with the three bedrooms. It is absolutely true that large groups could stay here with ease, as the description says. The unit is quiet, clean and had basic items in abundance, unlike some places we have rented. I read a review about “rickety stairs” which concerned me because my dad (77 yo) struggles with stairs but I reached out to the owner and he assured me there was another entry after initially unlocking the unit. We always used that entry and honestly never found anything “rickety.” The stairs to the front entry were very sturdy, carpeted and well lit with a handrail. Around back it is a concrete walkway and this was just easier for dad. The only caution I would say is that the tile in the master bathroom can become slick with steam from the shower but with the fan running and cautious walking, it is fine. Lots of think, fluffy towels to help if you worry about stepping it onto the tile. Our favorite part was the river right behind the unit. We slept with the windows open just to listen to it, made good use of patio furniture and explored the river several times. Although it is listed as a river, it is more of a babbling stream with fishing gear available in the closet in the living room, although we saw no fish. I would absolutely recommend!
