"Wonderful inn outside city but walkable with trails and park’s nearby. Restaurant on site with bar was great and staff were amazing! If you want that rustic countryside experience this is wonderful! No frills, but cozy, clean and comfortable beds. No A/C but provided fans which adds to the no frills country experience. Thank you to the wonderful staff for their hospitality! "

"We stayed in a family room for one night. The room was decent size. The bathroom was small but the shower was good. The lady who checked us in was very friendly. The bar is nice too. There is a lot of noise from the bar until after 11pm, which we were warned about, and it was a Saturday so to be expected! "

Would recommend displaying WIFI login details in the rooms in future . Room needs a bin , not just a bathroom bin . Good close parking, big spacious room with a nice comfy sofa . Lots of potential in room , but in need of updating . "

"The radiator in the room didn't work. I went to see the staff, and the boiler wasn't switched on, which is very strange for January !!. The boiler was on but the radiator didn't work on either day of my visit. 2 heaters were provided, but the person in charge wasn't aware of the issue with the boiler/radiator, which was poor in my view."

"The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Would happily stay here again when visiting the area as it’s a perfect little...
