Lovely Stay
Winchester was such a lovely town with so many things to do and see. We enjoyed coming home to the cottage each night with its screened-in patio and relaxing view of flowers and shade trees. The cottage was cozy and clean with plenty of linens and staples. I would stay here again, the location was excellent.

Great oasis
The carriage house was a charming place to stay. It was pleasant to sit on the screen porch and watch the birds. The house was nicely appointed with everything needed for your stay. The owner also provided some special extras for her guests.

Weekend at the carriage house
My husband and I stayed at the carriage house to be near Shenandoah National Park and to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Ramana was a very gracious host, and was great at communicating all the amenities available to us. The property has lots of mature trees and gardens makinf it a very peaceful place that has a lot of privacy. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire in the evening. We had a fantastic time at the cottage and would stay again if we come back to Winchester!

Perfect Weekend Hideaway!
We are so glad we stumbled upon this gem! Looking to find a place to celebrate our anniversary & get away (long overdue), I found Ramana’s garden paradise. It is a quaint 1920’s carriage house with beautiful hardwood floors, a pedestal tub, fully stocked kitchen & large screened in porch for relaxing on those gorgeous evenings! Upon arrival, Ramana greeted us with our keys & a tour of the whole property, including where we would be staying, showing us where we could find organic veggies & herbs in her garden if we wished to use them! She encouraged us to walk through the many gardens and courtyards of the whole property during our stay & we did-- we felt so at peace and truly relaxed, we ended up never leaving the property the whole weekend!! Every little detail was so personally thought out, from the handmade soaps in the bathroom to the organic fruits & coffees in the kitchen. She even had the table set beautifully with fresh flowers, a bottle of wine & chocolate to celebrate our anniversary! We spent our Saturday evening by the fire pit, which she had prepared and waiting for us, with fresh sage from her garden. It truly was a magical weekend and we will definitely be back again!

The name says it all!
The "Just Like Heaven Carriage and Tea House" is indeed heavenly. As you approach the Main house, we spotted the Tibetan Prayer flags and right away, we knew this was going to be special place we would never forget. The gardens surrounding the buildings are very well-kept and simply beautiful. Several places to sit, reflect and just "be". The carriage house is very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need. Ramana is a most gracious host and sees to every little detail including fresh cut flowers in every room and organic coffee in the kitchen. We loved staying at the Just Like Heaven Carriage House and recommend it to anyone looking for a sincere and cathartic experience.

Charming Carriage House
We loved our weekend in Winchester! The downtown area was great, we picked apples at an orchard and went horseback riding too! The carriage house was nice as well. Everything was very clean. It is a no shoe home so pack slippers. There is no TV which was nice to disconnect. We met the owner to get the keys which I had never done with any prior rental through VRBO. Ramana showed us around the house, the grounds, and the vegetable and herb garden. She also left us firewood with fresh sage to burn in the fire pit on both nights we were there. The parking is tight for a full sized truck, but not impossible. The shower is tight for folks that are tall too, but again, not terrible. The bed is a full which was also tight for two tall folks, but we knew that going in so it was just extra snuggly and it was comfortable. We had everything we needed and Ramana was just as sweet as can be! She even set a nice table setting with rose petals for our anniversary! If you drink coffee or tea, she has a wide assortment of both! The screened porch was a great spot to just relax too! I would recommend this property for a couple or single person looking for a charming spot to spend time.

Charming Cottage!
Ramana and John were very welcoming upon our arrival. The cottage was cozy and well appointed. It was exactly as described in the listing. Every detail was thought out to make our stay special. Loved the handmade soaps and bath salts! The kitchen is well equipped if you would like to enjoy a meal at the cottage. The day we checked in was an especially rainy and chilly day. It was nice to have the electric tea kettle and an assortment of teas available to enjoy a cup of tea. Although we brought our own reading material, there was an array of different books at our disposal. If you are looking for a tranquil, warm and private place to stay, you will love being a guest at Just Like Heaven carriage house. Very glad that I did a little research on places to stay in Winchester and decided to stay at Ramana's lovely place. Thank you!

A little slice of paradise hidden in an unlikely spot
The beautiful land, gorgeous decor, and wonderful little touchs (like homemade soap and fresh organic fruit and coffee) made this an absolutely ideal romantic getaway spot. We were confused about the check-out time, and despite inconveniencing our hosts, they were always lovely!

Perfect for a restful stay

A Unique & Special Place
This beautiful, private, and peaceful cottage is not for everyone. It was great for me and my best friend. There is no TV, no radio, no microwave - instead it offers quiet - to be used as one needs - probably not so much for the fun and party seeker. It was perfect for me and friend - we decided to move in together on a test run and she came home with me. The quiet space gave us time to talk to each other and to really listen to each other - could be the start of something good. On the other hand, one potentially dangerous finding was the bath and shower situation. At least for older guests, it was quite difficult to get into the bath which was also the shower and the shower was not so good. I believe the owners have been alerted to this - they seem to be really wonderful people and I'm sure they will check into it.

Quaint, well-maintained cottage in Winchester
Renovated carriage house is quaint, clean & well maintained. The surrounding 2-acre property boasts mature trees, vegetable garden, and peaceful settings. Ramana and John are gracious hosts and provided a tour of the property and fresh, organic fruit basket. They are very respectful of your privacy. The cottage consists of 4 room, screened porch and the property provides well water and a compost bin. It is as advertised on the web page. Easy access to shopping, activities and Shenandoah National Park. Peaceful setting, especially the screened front porch. Internet to the Carriage home is an extension from the main house and is adequate for email and basic internet searches. All the garden staff are friendly and respectful. Wishing Ramana and John continued blessings.

Perfect the Second Time Around
This was the second time we have stayed at Just Like Heaven....We were super busy dealing with buying a new house, so we weren't around the cottage too much. But, when we were there, it was just like a home away from home for us. Even though it was summer, it was cool enough for us to use the electric fireplace on a couple of nights. That was a nice addition to the cottage. Thank you so much for providing such a great place to stay!!!

What a perfect setting for a relaxing getaway!
Ahhhhh...Just Like Heaven is the place to be if you want to relax! It is the perfect li'l cottage that has everything you need, and Ramana and John have provided extras, too! The gardens surrounding the cottage are amazing, as well. We didn't want to leave. What a great feeling we got from staying there! We will definitely be back next year when we look for a house to buy.

A country escape!
Enjoyed my second visit to the Tea House as much as the first! Peaceful and tranquil, a wonderful little home tucked away from the world where you can go and rest, relax, slow down, and just find the time out of the city to gather your thoughts. The cottage is beautiful inside with lovely furnishings and the most comfortable bed ever! I spent each morning drinking organic coffee (provided by Ramana) in the screen porch listening to the birds all around; each evening a glass of wine enjoying the peace and quiet. I would totally recommend this cottage as a place to go to get away from it all. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thanks Ramana and John for sharing this wonderful property with your guests. See you next time!

A beautiful and tranquil oasis!
I just enjoyed a wonderful two night stay at this beautiful hideaway. The carriage house is exactly as described with an added touch of peace and magic! The cottage exudes a warmth and tranquility which very much mirrors the personality of its owner, Ramana. The decor is just lovely with every detail well thought out to make the stay feel special. The bed is so comfortable I slept for 9+ hours on my first night, something I never do! And sitting on the screened porch with a glass of wine in the evening, or a cup of organic coffee in the morning, listening to birdsong or welcoming visiting squirrels, was just priceless. Having a weekend in such a lovely location away from my "real life" was just great and what I needed - I hope to return again soon. Many thanks to Ramana and John for sharing their beautiful cottage.
