Lake trout naturally reproduce using the rocky shoals to spawn and maintain a productive fishery. Salmonid growth is good despite competition from warm water fish species. The lake is occasionally stocked with brook trout to supplement a small native population. Wilson lake is accessible via a public launch site located just south of downtown Wilton. Wonderful!
Beautiful property, very private and peaceful. We loved every bit of our stay. The hosts were great and made it clear they were available if needed, but not in our way. We were very comfortable and would love to rent again next year earlier in the season to enjoy the lake more.

Thank you to Jane and Peter for sharing your beautiful lake front property with us for the long weekend! The cottage is clean, property well maintained and equipped with everything to keep everyone in the entire family, including our 11 year old son happy! The highlights for us were the screened in porch, fishing on the rowboat with the trolling motor and kayaking. Highly recommend, well worth the visit! We will definitely return!

Jane & Peter’s lake cabin is the perfect location if your looking for a relaxing getaway! Right on quiet Wilson Lake with private access to the lake right out your back door. Perfect In Every Way!
We had an amazing time. We lucked out with the weather which certainly helped but the home and location are absolutely perfect for lakeside getaway. It’s a quite private cove with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The resident loon family serenaded us and graced us with their presence each day. The layout is perfect with a wonderful dock and a float to swim out to. It’s a beautiful piece of paradise and we hope to return. The hosts are so nice as well!

Peter and Jane are terrific hosts of a beautiful spot on the lake. We did all the things. We hiked Mt. Blue to the top. We peddled the boat out onto the lake. We watched the sunrise and sunset on the screened in porch. We made fires and roasted marshmallows. We had a terrifically beautiful family vacation at this perfect little cottage on the lake.

Beautiful Lakefront
Cozy cottage on a mid sized lake during a hotspell in early September. Hosts were very friendly and accomodating. We had access to swimming via a dock and inner tubes. The grounds were tidy with a badmitten net, croquet, ping pong, etc. They even took us for a ride on their new acquired pontoon boat. The location was ideal in that we felt secluded yet only six miles to Farmington, ME. We would like to go back next year.

Stonecroft / Wilson Lake is absolutely lovely quaint cottage right on the lake, with everything you possibly can think of. Peter and Jane are two great hearted people that put their all into making your stay with them enjoyable.. We enjoyed almost everything they have to offer, husband enjoyed fishing on the boat and dock most of the day, in between breaks of fishing we enjoyed kayaking, playing ping pong after dinner, swimming on a private dock, spending quality time on their private cottage. Definitely a spot to visit and looking forward to our next stay! Thank you both for your hospitality!

This unexpected gem was more beautiful than expected. The photos do not show, with accuracy, the thoughtfulness that has gone in to this place. It is cozy and comfortable, and very, very clean. Jane and Peter were great hosts. Friendly and thoughtful and not intrusive. Our time there was too short and we look forward to staying there next fall.

Fabulous view and very cozy
All I can say is that my family of 5 had a blast for the 5 days we were there. Jane and Peter are such gracious hosts, and they made sure our family was well-taken care of. They had kayaks, paddle boat and even a row boat that my husband enjoyed fishing in. The sun porch was beautiful-especially if it was raining my girls would hang out there and listen to the music. We loved the fire pit that they had-wood and kindling was provided too. My 3 year old daughter and I even napped in the hammock. Thanks so much Jane and Peter! We feel as we have met some new friends for life.

Just what the Dr. ordered
We were looking for a relaxed week away from the craziness that is our life this year. We got that plus so much more. Our hosts Jane and Peter could not have been more welcoming and gracious. We were availed every amenity that they had. Kayaking, peddle boat, and so much more. We were allowed to bring our 8 year old dog, who I must say loved it as well. We will be looking forward to our next visit to the lake house. Thank You Jane and Peter for making our stay a very pleasant, relaxing, and oh so very enjoyable week, one that we couldn’t wait to share with family and friends. You both are wonderful hosts. Thank you so much.

Not advertised correctly
The cottage has everything you could need but is not fit for a winter rental. The water pressure is challenging as well as the heating system. Maine is known for power outages the main house benefits from a generator but the cottage doesn't. Ideal for icefishing as long as you bring your own salt/sand for the back entry. One bedroom doesn't allow for privacy and doesn't sleep 6. Bedroom and bathroom have sliding doors with no locks.

Abundant Family Fun,Rest and Beauty
As promised, Stonecroft offered everything listed and more. The fully outfitted main house with its adjacent cottage is the ideal family getaway and is ready to enjoy by all ages. No need of potential renters was overlooked. Toys, games, boats, outfitted kitchen and if needed, wireless network. It was exceptionally clean and well stocked by the owners who are extremely friendly and gracious. Stonecroft can handle large groups. From our 2 year old granddaughter to our 93 year old mother, there was fun and relaxation. Be it coffee on the porch each morning looking at the beautiful mountains or daily barbecues and campfires, the simplicity was a joy. Swimming, kayaking, sailing and the biggest bass catch ever by our son all added to the fun. Tucked in the woods on the most beautiful spot on Wilson Lake, nature’s beauty surrounded us with loons and frogs to lull us to sleep and a close encounter with a bald eagle while boating. Stonecroft is unique in that it has such a variety of “places to be”: gardens, dock, beach, deck, porch, family areas and outdoors. We would highly recommend you visit and like us, you will plan to go again.

The Best VRBO Experience Ever
By far this was our BEST Vrbo rental experience in all the years we have done business with this resource! Jane and Peter were the most exceptional hosts that you could ever ask for. They were kind, welcoming, a joy to speak with and very down to earth. Their rental property was immaculate, the property description was spot on, and the Vrbo listing just began to do justice to our overall visit. During our time we had ample opportunity to explore Wilson lake, the town of Wilton, as well, the surrounding bay areas. We likewise found time to kayak across the lake itself. In summary, Jane and Peter truly went out of their way to make sure our stay was a very enjoyable and memorable one. Thank you, Jane and Peter for every courtesy that you had shown us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at your property.
