Wilmington had a snow storm during our recent visit and the downtown area was shut down. Hotel staff at restaurant worked very hard to provide meals. The wait was long but the food was good and they had great attitudes. Great staff!!

We stayed here every year when we Celebrate Robert Burns Birthday. 266 yrs It's a Scottish Thing!! The hotels employees go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. We had a wonderful meal with the celebration and enjoyed the beauty of the art work on display. It is off season so the hotel is in need of some minor cosmetic works that will most likely been done before spring. We just had winter storms so we have to take that in account also!! Top notch front desk on all shifts and a great service from the Valet. Will return again!!

What an excellent stay at this beautiful hotel overlooking the Cape Fear River with a Birds Eye view of the NC Battleship. PRICELESS!! Absolutely wonderful front desk staff especially at check in, such a pleasant older lady( missed her name). Went above and beyond to make all the guest checking feel welcome. After noticing that I knew my stay was going to be A and it was. Highly recommend

Pros: The property is in a great location, walkable to everything. Cons: Noisy in your hotel room, thin walls, hear room doors slamming throughout night, they are very strict and don't allow early check-in. Parking is $22-27, I parked across street in parking garage for $14

The location is great. We enjoyed the view and river walk to restaurants. Wish we had a mini frig in our room or more than 2 coffee pods for 2 adults and 2 mornings. The fragrance in the hotel is nice but way too strong.

The room itself was lovely (updated furniture, flooring, paintings, etc.) as well as the location and view. You couldn’t have beat that. The staff was very good too. However, basic things were lacking, such as cleanliness (all floors), stains on the comforter and curtains, and there wasn’t a coffee maker. There was a place to get coffee on the main floor, but no one was there to take my order. I get that some hotels opt not to have a microwave but thought a fridge would be standard (for diabetics). As another reviewer indicated, the bathroom door, walls, and toilet were outdated. The raised sink wasn’t functional, as I couldn’t get both of my hands under it. The LG TV was dark, and housekeeping knocked on the door daily and woke us up; couldn’t get a do not disturb sign. I think a lot of my disappointment could have been avoided with a basic quality check of the room. These disappointments did not have any bearing on our vacation. However, I will not stay at this hotel.
