Lake Tawakoni House

This little rustic house has lots of charm (Not your Sheraton). . The house has a private shaded backyard with large trees, large fire pit, lawn chairs, hammock, picnic tables, games, provides a fun place for kids & adults to play (Outdoor games provided), (Two outdoor grills provided). The frontyard has large trees and a garden/goldfish pond with a fountain, makes walking around the house a treat while drinking your morning coffee. Enjoy rocking chairs or benches inside screened porches. Front & backyard are fenced in for pets. Very well heated and cooled for year-round lodging. Free Internet, Ruko TV/movies, DVD's, Wifi speaker, ATARI video games & work place desk. This lake front property is walking distance to the community park that has, a large fishing dock, boat slip and swimming area, (Boats, Kayaks, canoes & meeting hall for rent). Lake Tawakoni State park is near by. You can also visit flea markets & antique shops in the area. Ham Orchards (Peach farms) & Canton flea mkt is a must see.

We have a 16 foot, 3 person canoe, a 16 foot, 4 person Jon boat and a 20 foot pontoon boat for rent. We also rent fishing Kayaks, bikes, and fishing poles on request.. We also provide cut firewood & charcoal on request. There is an extra charge for the Hot tub.
Weekly, Monthly & veterans bookings welcome at a discount.

Relaxing getaway
We had a relaxing couple of days here - enjoyed the games, Frisbee by the lake, fire pit etc. The owner has definitely made updates in most of the rooms but not all. If it's chilly, be prepared that one restroom is off the front porch (but has a heater in it). The upper deck above the house was a treat for the kids.

Nice house
The house simple, but very cozy and has everything you need for living. We loved nature there, especially birds songs. The big tree provides shade and comfortable temperature in and near the house.

We had a bad fishing weekend because of the wind,but the house is stocked with everything I was told. It's very quiet. Very clean. Fire pit, charcoal grill, gas grill. Plenty of indoor and outdoor furniture. We had six men take a shower all in a row and never ran out of hot water. Those are what I care about. Two thumbs up.

Great little house
Had a great time, house was perfect! no its nothing fancy which was perfect as we spent most of our time on the lake or in the back yard. house had everything needed to make our stay e joyable without having to bring our whole kitchen of go to the store to buy stuff. to top it all off Ben was amazing! called the morning of with the instructions and a list of things to do on or near the lake! also had a great selection of DVDs to watch

My stay
Overall the property and my stay was fine. The WiFi was broken during our stay and didn’t get fixed, not too big of a deal for me but my mom was a bit irritated, and it made communicating with the owners more difficult due to bad cell service as well. Some reviews say it has water access across the street but the closest public water access was about a 5-10 minutes drive, everywhere has gated property and we couldn’t get to the water to fish or boat easily. The state park was a short drive so we went there for a day and had a great time. Great recommendations on the wall from the owner for food and night attractions.

Country Cabin near the Lake
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Perfect escape from the city with my sisters and within in walking distance Lake Tawakoni. Cozy & comfy interior with all the necessary items needed to make your stay simple. So pleasant to sit on the front screened patio with the breeze through the huge oak shade trees and listen to the frogs chatting in the pond, the birds singing, and none of the noise of the city to disturb you. Spent all our time outdoors either by the fire-pit in back, on the front porch, or down the street at the Private Community Park on the lake front. Short drive to Quinlan with all the conveniences of a small town; WalMart, Brookshire's, restaurants, gas stations, shopping, and Hunt County Trade Days(every Saturday and Sunday). Ben was very gracious and made sure our stay was hassle-free.

Quiet GetAway
We enjoyed the quiet relaxing atmosphere of the backyard. It is private and the outdoor area is a great place to hang out and let the pets run free. There is covered parking, two screened porches with a swing and rocker on the front porch. It was lovely listening to the song birds as we sat outside, beside a fire watching our dogs play in the leaves. The house is cozy and the bathroom is updated. The kitchen has all the utencils needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wish we could have stayed longer. Ben is a great host who is easily reached and responds quickly to text and phone messages. He was very helpful and accomodating, helping us to schedule our weekend getaway. When we return to the Lake Tawakoni area we will surely look to see if this property is available. It is affordable, we give it two thumbs up!! Thanks Ben!! God Bless!!

Terrible disappointment!!
Roof was covered with leaves. The house is in terrible shape the floor in both bedrooms was sinking in the middle. The morning we were leaving the floor fell in! When I told the owner all he said was he was sorry for the inconvenience. He offered us to stay a little longer,but who would want to do that in the condition it was in. We stayed in July 2019 & house was in good shape. We could also use the dock in the community. In fact, that was why I rented the place so we could be close to the water but, owner said they would not allow anyone who doesn't live there to use the dock. First disappointment was the floor, second was the dock & third was told fishing was good & that was not the fault of the owner but that was why we rented this place. It is miss represented on the website & I really wish I could get a partial refund or something. The place & infact the entire area needs a lot of work. Was embarrassed to have my family from Katy Tx meet me there. I felt so bad about having them pay half & have to stay in this house. Will never stay again. I took pictures of the floor & the outside with leaves covering the entire ground. The owner obviously didn't care about the place. Just a junky place can't believe I paid so much to stay here.

Stayed here with four teenage girls for a birthday slumber party. The house was cozy, comfortable and clean. The kids had a good time and there were a lot of games available for them to play. The neighhood was quiet and felt safe. The owner was very nice and very helpful. Would recommend. Thank You 😊
