"We loved the idea of staying in a castle and that in itself was magical. We stayed in the Cromwell Suite which is big. The kids loved the extra room to roam. The high ceiling in the living/2nd bed area was nice and contributed to the majestic feel.There were however a few things that could have been better. "Had an excellent stay here, staff very friendly and accomodating, rooms spotless, food excellent for both evening meal and breakfast and very reasonably priced. Only slight negative was the room maybe needs some slight updating, the carpet was coming away from the wall and was fraying and the kettle had to be used on the floor as the flex didnt reach the plug socket. "My only worry was the noise from outside the room from the kitchen extractor fan, or something. However it was turned off from 21:45 to 07:00ish, if I remember correctly. So no complaints. "

"Pub is closed on Sunday evenings and Monday morning so only contact we had was to pick key up, so cannot really comment on service. Lodge was clean but looking a bit tired, but was fine for a one night stay. "
