Welcome to Magnolia House. Magnolia House is named after our Cavapoo, Magnolia who is our foundation dog for our Cavapoo Puppies that we also breed. When you enter our 4200 ft.² three story house you will immediately want to relax and kick off your shoes. Immediately in front of you is a large living room with comfortable seating, a large tv, and during the summer a view outback of the 20 x 40’ swimming pool. Between the five bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, loft and multiple areas for inflatable beds. This house can easily accommodate 20 people.
This has been our family’s home for over 30 years and has recently been remodeled from top to bottom with a modern farmhouse vibe. If you enjoy cooking, you’ll be delighted with the chefs kitchen, complete with a 48 inch gas stove and all new stainless appliances. The copper farmhouse sink is just an added pleasure. There’s plenty of seating so guests can keep the cook company at the round table in the kitchen or on bar chairs at the handmade island that came from Amish country in Pennsylvania.
From the kitchen, you can head out the door to enjoy the 1000 square-foot deck that wraps around two sides of the house and during the summer, on out to the 20x40 ft swimming pool with diving board where you may just stay for the rest of the evening. Poolside you can enjoy grilling your meal, hanging out under the pergola and roasting hotdogs or making s’mores around the fire pit. The best conversations are had at night where you can see the stars and still enjoy splashing in the pool.
All those wet towels will be easy to take care of on your way back inside , when you toss them in the washer in the laundry room on the main floor. In the dining room is a large table that’s great for eating, playing games or cards or working a puzzle. You’ll find a good assortment of games and puzzles on the shelves at magnolia house. The last room on the main floor is the magnificent master bedroom complete with shiplap, a brick wall, floor to ceiling bookshelves and in the master bathroom there’s a soaker tub that’s unforgettable.
Back out into the living room and up the hickory stairway. You’ll find three more bedrooms each with its own TV, a bathroom and a loft area with a 55” television, queen sleeper sofa and comfy chairs.
We’ve saved the biggest surprise for last! When you come back downstairs to the main level and head on down the the rustic shiplap boarded stairs you will be amazed at what awaits you! There is almost another whole home down here with a full kitchen, one and a half bathrooms and the second master bedroom complete with a king size bed. Four theater chairs and 2 full leather couches accommodate a large crowd as you gather to pop some popcorn and watch your favorite movie on the 75 inch screen. The basement has a character all its own with lots of secondhand brick visible in the kitchen, bathroom, and around the windows and fireplace. Your little ones will enjoy playing in the children’s nook created for our grandchildren underneath the stairs. They might even find a play kitchen tucked away inside one of the cabinets.
If you really must work, when you’re supposed to be playing, we’ve left a computer set up at the workstation just for you.
In the evening feel free to stroll to the end of the street crossover and enjoy a walk along the commons areas in our beautiful green fairway that boasts newly refurbished children’s area and covered picnic areas. The entire neighborhood area has miles of sidewalks and you are free to enjoy them. Just around the sidewalk to the north are two small lakes, where you’ll frequently see people on the sidewalk with their poles in the water.
The great plains nature center is just across Woodlawn to the west and just north of 29th St. there you’ll find lots of paths for outdoor hiking and when it’s open, a building that houses a few small animals.
We’re just a hop, skip and a jump from Wichita State University if you enjoy a rousing game of college basketball during the winter.
During the weekends, there’s an active nightlife to be enjoyed in old town, frequent concerts at INTRUST and Hartman Arena, restaurants at The Waterfront and Cabela’s Shopping in Greenwich Plaza. And we’re close enough to hear the outdoor concerts at Yaya’s on Saturday nights. If ypu head west you’ll find the Sedgwick County Zoo and Tanganika Wildlife Park.
