Check In Before Dark.
We came up for a wedding and really enjoyed this house. Very clean, very comfortable, Wi-Fi was good and I will rent again if we are in the area. We came the third weekend of October and there was no snow but we used 4WD the last mile to the cabin. I would not go up without it. I used their directions and once we did it once we were good. Beautiful area and close to a lot of great sight seeing!!

Nice house, very clean, well appointed. I couldn’t give 5 stars because the internet timed out every night at 9:00 PM with no explanation or resolution. The gravel drive was no joke. Very nerve wracking to drive on, especially on a dark or rainy night. Not much can de done about the condition of the properties we passed while driving on the gravel drive to the house, so we were glad to find a tidy, quiet peaceful place upon arrival.

Nice place
Nice place with hot tub and a flowing river. The highway really didn’t bother us in the front. The driveway isn’t all that bad like some reviews said. It is long and it is a single car driveway but we had no problems. Hey it’s the mountains so stop complaining

COULD NOT GET TO THIS PROPERTY
we tried in the pouring rain to find this cabin on a long single lane road that was partially flooded for two hours. We called for assistance to only receive a text giving us the same directions that we already had. We were honestly in what felt to us as an unsafe situation . The customer service of VACASA is horrible.

Good Experience Overall
Only caveat would be the hot tub water was a little dirty. We thought to replace water but was unsure of what was allowed. All other aspects of our stay were very good.

Very relaxing for a weekend getaway
Overall this place was perfect. The furniture was nice and comfortable. The only part that I did not enjoy was the driveway to reach the property. There was a single gravel drive that was a mile long to reach the house. Also, the hot tub did not stay heated. Once occupied the temperature slowly dropped to 88° and would never increase. The hot tub could only be enjoyed for short periods of time with hours in between to reheat. I would stay again as this was a very cozy home away from home.

JULY 4TH., 2021 VACATION
HOT TUB WAS FILTHY AND PAID TO HAVE IT CLEANED BEFORE CHECKING IN FOR VACATION. COULD NOT USE. THE HALL BATH STAYED STOPPED UP AND MY SON FIXED BY PULLING GOBS OF HAIR OUT OF THE DRAIN. THE SHOWER HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. THE NOISE FROM THE HIGHWAY WAS HORRIBLE. NICE HOUSE BUT NEEDS GOOD CLEANING. FURNITURE DIRTY. FRENCH DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. NOT GOING BACK.

Great house, but...
The house was lovely and clean and well laid out. It is really unfortunate that the noise from the highway is so loud - it is not, sadly, a place to go for peace and quiet. And for those who complained about the water access, walk along the water a little ways upriver and you’ll see a lovely deck and water entry. My husband uses an electric wheelchair and the house was great for that, although the space in front of and to the left of the toilet was tight. We had a great time!

Not what you think
Loud traffic 1.5 miles into the woods to end back up across the river to hear traffic. Hot tub cold and water in house smelled like rotten eggs. Neighboor mowing yard at 8:30 pm no peace and quiet waste of money

Amazing hide away
This house is great if you like to be tucked away. It is a gorgeous property and the house its self is incredible. The view is particularly awesome from the hot tub. There is a small private train that runs which could be a potential drawback but it’s a mild inconvenience. The drive to the house was a little daunting and confusing but once I found the house it was easy to remember how to get there and back to the main road. This was an amazing girls trip i would absolutely recommend and come back.

The house is spacious, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Excellent Wifi and satellite tv. The only drawbacks are a BAD road to the house (Hornet Drive) and road noise (Highway 74) when outside,

Great place to stay!
Loved the property! Little trouble finding it. You definitely need to arrive before dark. Beautifully appointed. Had everything we needed and more. Quite comfortable. Accessibility inside and out was very good. I would suggest a grab bar in the shower as there is nothing to hold on to. And an inexpensive shower stool would be helpful. We will return!

Trout Landing in Whittier NC
The property and house were very nice and well furnished and stocked. It is pretty close to the Highway (74) and could hear the highway traffic from the Mater Bedroom; but luckily it was not too heavy overnight, and we were gone most of the days. The only negative is that this house is listed as a handicapped home, but there are no grab bars in the shower, or over the toilet. This made it extremely difficult for my husband, and quite dangerous. Luckily we had some portable bars with us that worked in the shower. But the toilet area was definitely a challenge.

We are two healthcare workers getting away into the mountains. Great week! Beautiful home, very clean, all kitchen cookware & utensils we needed. Great having washer/dryer. Adventurous entry on one lane gravel road, but part of the fun! Enjoyed fall views on Blue Ridge Pkway. We would rent again!

Beautiful Cabin Property/No Water Access
This cabin was very nice. Nicely decorated, clean; the perfect size for my family. The property was very nice and we took advantage of the outdoor patio and fire pit. My husband enjoyed napping on the porch swing! We also enjoyed the Barkers Creek Bridge which was accessible from the side of the property. There is road noise but we are from the city so it was something we could easily tune out. There is a train track just behind the house but we only saw one train (engine only), the entire trip. Our only complaint was the lack of access to the river. We rented this property because we had intentions to go fishing. My husband and children were all disappointed in this. When you see the pictures provided they are very misleading. The picture is taken from two properties down. Both properties next to this one have water access. So if you are looking to fish from the property, this will not be the place for you. This is the reason we didn't give the property 5 stars. If the water/fishing weren't a focal point for our trip then this would be a moot point. I tried to find a means to contact property management to see if there was an alternative access point but could not find any means to do so. Overall we still had a great trip. We took advantage of the numerous hiking trails and access points to the waterfalls in the area. And even saw a bear during one of our hikes! Make sure you grab trail maps before you head out. We did a jump over to Hendersonville, which has great shops and one of my favorite wineries. If you love wine, visit Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards. You can make a day of it and also visit Burnshirt Vineyards which is only a few miles from Saint Paul, but I prefer Saint Paul! We love this part of North Carolina! Every time we visit it just confirms this is going to be our future home.
