Trout Creek Retreat is a beautiful, luxurious home in a family neighborhood located in the Great Smoky Mountains. This property is located on the Oconaluftee River 1/4 of a mile up the subdivision mountain from Highway 19.

This cabin is entered through the living room which offers an open floor plan complete with kitchen, living room, and dining room. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils and cookware to use during your stay. Also in the kitchen is a large closet to store pantry items and where the washer and dryer is located. Three high top chairs are located at the bar area in the kitchen and the dining room has seating for four. The living room has a gas fireplace, 55" mounted TV, 2 swivel chairs, and a sofa lounger which lowers to offer additional sleeping accommodations for 2 guests. The 2 bedrooms are on opposites sides of the home which offer privacy.

At the end of the hallway on each side of the home is where the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are located. Each bedroom offers a queen bed, mounted 43" TV, and large closet space. Adjacent to each bedroom is a full bath.

Just outside the kitchen through the sliding glass door is the large covered porch overlooking the Oconaluftee River. There are rocking chairs and tables for you and your guests to enjoy the scenery as well as your morning coffee or a beverage in the evenings. Also on the porch is a gas grill along with a 4 person hot tub. Walking a short distance off the porch is a fire pit and Trex outdoor furniture for seating.

The home is located just 5 miles from Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, 20 miles from the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and 10 miles from Bryson City, home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Be sure to also check out the local shopping and dining in Bryson City, Waynesville, Sylva, Dillsboro, and Franklin.

Other things to note
-During the spring, summer, and fall the lawn service is generally on the weekends depending on weather. Host will try to provide timeframe.
-Garbage pick-up is on Thursday.
-We have one security camera on the front porch facing the parking area, fire pit, and shed. Host will send a screenshot of the camera view upon guest request. The camera will be on during your stay.

Perfect for a weekend at the casino
We had a concert at the casino and made a weekend out of it! The house’s location was perfect for that!! We loved the porch over looking the river and the hot tub. Super relaxing! Very clean and inviting! The beds however were not very comfortable and the drive through the neighborhood isn’t great. I wouldn’t want to drive in my car due to the steep hills… thankfully we were in my husband’s truck. Very peaceful and succluded though. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Excellent Place to stay!
This cabin was perfect for us! It had such a great view and the mountain was not too terrible to get up. Jennifer was a great host and communicated with me very well. I really appreciate how she took our safety into consideration when it came to the ice on the road getting to cabin on the mountain. Everything we needed was there and easy access. I highly recommend this place!

Snowing weekend
We drove up early do to winter weather coming and was able to check in earlier then expected. The host was very accommodating and responsive when asked questions about our stay. The cabin was clean and we'll stocked. The hot tub was very nice to watch the snow fall down and even made a snowman. I would highly recommend this cabin and I will be staying g here again!

Cozy weekend getaway
Trout creek cabin was just that, a very cozy getaway from the holiday hustle! We enjoyed a day in, and another day exploring the Great Smokey Mountain parkway into Tennessee. With the close location of the cabin it made it very convenient to access. Jennifer is a great host and makes for a very comfortable and easy experience! This was not our first stay and we hope to return again!

Everything was great!
Everything went great. The Owner was very helpful and very informative. The cabin was in great shape when we arrived. The locationn wasnt the greatest because of where it was at bit it wasnt a problem. The driveway was linf of steep but it wasnt something that you wasnt able to travel on.

Beautiful Cabin
This cabin was exactly as described. It was a beautiful cabin inside and out in a peaceful setting by the river. Cabin was immaculately clean on the inside and to our surprise was decorated with the most beautiful woodsy themed Christmas decorations and tree when we arrived the first week in November. Communication with the host was quick and most helpful, as she even sent ideas on things to do in the area and places to eat. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. This was our first time booking through vrbo and we couldn't have been more satisfied with our choice. This was the most beautiful, perfect cabin and location for the first getaway without children in over 24 years for my husband and me.

Jennifer is everything you want in a host! She’s quick to reply and the absolute kindest! The cabin is beautiful! Whether you’re going with family or want something romantic, it’s the perfect place to stay. I booked this for my mother in law’s birthday and Jennifer took the time to put out the cutest happy birthday sign. You’ll be so close to town and there’s a ton to do. The cabin was just as nice as we could have asked for. Very well equipped, beautifully decorated, gorgeous view and comfortable. Simply because we are not accustomed to mountain living, we would have preferred easier access - at least a wider road in and out, but even that was truly an experience we will always remember.

The place was nice and clean. We thought the mattress was hard, and the sofa and chairs were hard too. It would also have been nice to have a clearer view of the water. The driveway was a little scary but we are not used to driving in the mountain's. Overall it was as it looked.

Beautiful private cabin that is away from all the busy of tourism. Having a fully stocked kitchen was a life saver and a pocket book saver. We also had a kitty visit us one evening to say hi. But was a quiet getaway we wanted for our honeymoon.

Close but not to close
The location for us was great. We usually stay in Cherokee but enjoyed being right outside this time. Loved the seclusion of the cabin and privacy. The cabin felt like home. It had everything we needed and more. A bonus was the provided firewood because ours got wet from rain the day before arrival. The neighborhood picnic area was quiet and relaxing but wasn't really ideal for swimming for the kids. They got plenty of swimming in the river though! The hot tub was relaxing. It does take 5-10 minutes to get to the cabin once your off the main highway. The cabin overall was nice and quaint. Would definitely recommend staying.

I liked the atmosphere and the remote location. The house was quaint and had everything we needed. The only problem we had was that the spa/hot tub wasn't functioning correctly. The owner and I pretty much played message tag for 3 days. Never got it checked out but she did apologize and refunded us $50 off of our stay.

Great get a away cabin!
The cabin was absolutely wonderful! If you're looking for a peaceful place this is it! We didn't have to have 4x4 to get there either however......it is a single car road all the way back there and the driveway does drop down a good bit. But it was fine. We had a great time!

Cabin was perfect! Great porch to relax and enjoy. Clean annd stocked with anppliances, cooking utencils etc. Only flaw was road to the cabin was curvy and one way with potential of 2 way traffic. Driveway very steep but doable.
