We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Daydream Island Resort. Staff were super friendly and always happy to assist. The range of on island activities was great and gave us something new to try each day. The staff at the tour desk gave us excellent advice as to which off island activities would be suitable for our family of four - and they were spot on with Ocean Rafting day trip to Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet and snorkelling our absolute highlight! Our only feedback would be that it would be wonderful to see another dining (restaurant/cafe) option especially offering something light for lunch/dinner - sandwiches/wraps etc. By the end of our 7th night we had exhausted just about everything on the menu from both restaurants (Infinity and Salti) and would have loved a different option. That being our only negative, we thought the Living Reef staff and their ongoing efforts to re-establish the coral and marine life in the area (after cyclone Debbie destroyed so much) are absolutely fantastic and something to be very proud of! One of the many reasons we will definitely be back in the future!

Daydream very family friendly holiday resort with great pools, restaurants, friendly staff, lots tours available and great underwater fish viewing This was a great 5 day break with plenty options to visit reef, fishing, helicopter tours and best was ocean sunset cruise Thanks again to all staff in helping making this memorable stay. Had an enjoyable 4 nights and found the place clean and comfortable. The pools are fantastic. I was apprehensive about the dining options but the food tasted absolutely amazing at the two restaurants. We had one night where the emergency alarms went off at least 5 times that we heard. However when asleep it is hard to hear the alarms inside the room. Which wouldn’t be good in an emergency. Staff were all friendly and helpful. It would be great if there was another option of getting to and from the island to Airlie beach and Hamilton island though. Especially in the evenings. We missed out on one of our nights due to ferry leaving ten minutes prior to arrival of the bus after our flight and had to find accommodation elsewhere at last minute. Would totally return to daydream island and absolutely adored the aquariums

The property itself is lovely and the rooms are spacious with very comfy (new) beds. Generous amount of towels given and nice bathroom amenities. We received an upgrade which was a lovely surprise. Beautiful pools and the underwater aquarium is amazing. Buffet breakfast is pretty standard but has a nice view of the fish and aquariums. Few issues - 1. We arrived at 11am and had given prior notice we would be early, early checkin isn’t guaranteed which is fine however our room wasn’t ready until almost 3pm which is an hour after the guaranteed check in time of 2pm! 2. One end of the island looks like a derelict ghost town - everything is closed, the pool is out of order and generally looked rundown and forgotten about. 3. Room service is for nighttime only 4. No real lunch options available which is annoying since you can’t pop down the road to go get food. 5. Coffee pods not replenished daily. The Infinity restaurant is an absolute standout - the food is incredible and lovely staff there. Highly recommend eating here!!

We loved our stay at Daydream. Great to relax, and also to learn about the reef from the onsite marine biologists. Theyre still rebuilding a little after the cyclone, doesn't impede the quality of your holiday.

Ignore all negative reviews! We are a family of 4, 2A 2K (12 & 8). Daydream Island was the best! Previous negative reviews worried me however found them to be completely untrue. My advice is call the resort if you have any questions or aren't clear on things. Rooms- Very clean, spacious Shower had great pressure, beds were so comfortable. Food was delicious and PLENTY! Breakfast had the same menu everyday but we stayed 6 nights and had something different every morning. Room service was available. Food delivered quickly (20 min), hot and very tasty. A great variety for kids and adults available. For lunch you can purchase from "the shack" until 3.30pm or from Salti restaurant (Mediterranean cuisine) Three restaurants open from lunch/Dinner until 8.30pm (booking advised for Salti and Infinity (Asian cuisine). Graze is the 3rd restaurant (ala carte/room service) Honestly, everything we ate were tasty, big servings. Pool bar- they have their own drink menu but will make what you request. A little patience is needed, however no different to any other places we've stayed at. Gift shop sells drinks/snacks/necessities. Customer service - WOW. Everyone was welcoming, smiles on their faces, happy to help. Dylan welcomed us and was so nice and informative. A massive thank you and recognition of these staff for being amazing... Pacifique, Amelia, Reine, 2 girls in the Pool Bar (unfortunately I didnt get their names) and a very sweet Islander gentleman whose name began with C.
