Tucked away just off the most popular street in Whitby that leads up to the Abbey, this terraced holiday cottage is in the perfect location with restaurants and pubs on the doorstep, and just minutes from the beach. This fisherman’s cottage in a yard of Grade II listed properties, oozing with character, was built in the early 18th century. It is set over four floors, with an open plan kitchen/dining room on the ground floor, a spacious living room on the first floor and the bedrooms on the second and third floor.
There is an array of Whitby Jet shops and interesting small businesses along the many cobbled streets. Whitby’s famous kipper house is just along the road where you can get your fresh kippers for breakfast. Take the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey and enjoy the fantastic views over the rugged coastline. For those ramblers amongst you, Whitby forms part of the Cleveland Way where you can enjoy fantastic walks along the cliff tops. The North York Moors is close by. You can catch the steam train to travel from Whitby across the moors to Grosmont (Heartbeat Country) and the market town of Pickering. There’s a lovely large sandy beach in Whitby, as well as many excellent seaside resorts along the coast including Scarborough, Filey, Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes.

Travel cot, highchair and stairgate are provided in the cottage. They are stored in the cupboard in the 2nd bedroom.
The courtyard at the rear of the property is not enclosed and other residents have access through the yard.
The gate entrance cannot be blocked off and is open to the street.
Parking in Whitby can be challenging at busy times and may involve a walk back to the cottage after unloading in Church Street. There is on-street parking (some free, some in pay zones) and public car parks are available; we provide one or two (depending on the length of your stay) parking permits that allow you to park free for 4 days (per permit) in the residents’ permit-controlled zones on the West Cliff on the other side of the river, wherever you see a “W” on the roadside parking plate. Make sure you scratch off the dates properly and ensure the permit is visible
