Built by Captain Scoresby, this first floor apartment sleeps up to four guests and on-site parking.
The Space:
Scoresby Place is a carefully designed, charming apartment, carefully curated to ensure you have everything that you could need for a lavish self-catering staycation in Whitby. Stylish and modern, yet still maintaining traditional features, the apartment boasts a living and dining area where you can relax and socialise after your long days taking in the finest of what Whitby has to offer.
The apartment boasts two gorgeous bedrooms, one fitted with a comfy king size bed, and the other equipped with a double bed. In the master bedroom you will find a dressing table, bedside tables and lamps.
Similar in style, the second bedroom has premium furnishings and is finished to the highest standard, whilst also boasting fantastic views across the Whitby rooftops.
Featuring marble tiles and white walls, a bathtub with a handheld shower and a separate walk-in shower, the bathroom at Scoresby Place is modern and stylish. A WC and basin complete the space to a comfortable finish.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to Scoresby Place are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Private on-site parking is available for one vehicle. This can be found directly outside the property's entrance.
A travel cot and high chair are available for guest use at Scoresby Place. These can be found in a separate utility room which guests will not have access to - please contact our friendly team prior to your stay to request that these items are left out for your arrival.
The Neighborhood:
Set on the West side of Whitby, Scoresby Place is located in the heart of town so you can expect a fabulous central location.
Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
The centre of Whitby is a short walk from Scoresby Place.
Whitby train station is just down the road so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
