Absolute Gem!
This cottage really is a home from home that we would highly recommend. You want for nothing - the cottage is so well equipped. It was clean, warm, cosy and we will definitely be returning. Jackie and John were excellent hosts and happy to help in any way they could. It was an absolute joy to be able to go walking to Goathland or Grosmont from the door. No need for the car until we wanted to venture into Whitby. Excellent location, excellent facilities. A real gem away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thankyou Jackie and John for making our stay so comfortable. See you again!

Amazing Tranquil piece of Yorkshire - everything you need yet near everywhere you want to visit.
Feel like I don't want to share this little gem of a place!
Beautiful cottage with everything you would want. Didn't get chance to use the lovely wood burning stove as weather just lovely too!
You feel like you have escaped from the hustle and bustle of life in this amazing little place - peaceful, amazing views, sunsets, cows, and sheep.
Kids could roam free outside whilst we enjoyed a glass or two enjoying the view.
Jackie and John were so friendly and helpful including providing an unexpected tractor ride.
We will return ...
What a location for this beautifully presented property! From the warm welcome from John and Jackie to the wonderful scenery we hit on a good one here.
The cottage was roomy (watch your head on the sloping ceilings upstairs!) and had all the facilities and equipment you could want and was spotlessly clean. The freeview TV was a bit bizarre mind you so you might want to take some DVDs in case the weather is poor. Jackie has a good selection that you can borrow.
We loved our stay here. The peace and tranquillity of the setting was just what we needed but at the same time it was a great base to explore. There are lots of walking opportunities and plenty of sights to see just a relatively short drive away.,
We will certainly be back.

Fantastic location, beautiful cottage!
Just returned from a fantastic week in this cottage. Beautiful peaceful location with wonderful wildlife on your doorstep! Our children loved waking up and watching the cows in the field. Ourselves, children and dogs were made very welcome by John and Jackie - perfect hosts! Great central location with Goathland, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay only a short drive away. The cottage itself was spotless when we arrived, it was very well equipped with everything we needed. My daughter loved the toys provided and didn't touch ours! Very comfy beds much appreciated after all the lovely long walks. Dogs loved the under floor heating :) Even a lovely bottle of wine chilling in the fridge on our arrival that was a lovely touch and much appreciated! Could not fault it, hope to return. Lisa and Paul Cambridgeshire.
we had a lovely and quiet stay in the most beautiful setting in Goathland. We surely could recommend the Greenland farm cottages if you like walks and if you want to relax and retreat from your busy life
Quiet, peaceful, in glorious surroundings, exceptionally clean cottage, and lovely hosts who are just next door if needed. Staying on a farm, so expect cows and sheep, though not by cottage. Perfect for exploring the coast, or walking the moors.
Spotless property, warm and very well equipped. Well situated for sightseeing, beaches and walks. Jackie and John made us feel very welcome we will definitely be returning
The scenery is breathtaking. Perfect for the family for walking and exploring.
Jackie and John are welcoming to their guests. Very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
If by any chance we visit North Yorkshire again, we will definitely book on the same cottage,
Very clean, well-equipped, peaceful, and comfortable cottage.
Highly recommended!
Beautifully clean cottage in the heart of the forest.
With so many natural beauty spots to explore this was a fantastic place to relax in of an evening
The cottage is very well-equipped and in a great location for exploring the moors and the coast. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. We would stay there again.
Excellent from the start .beautiful location ,the cottage is perfect the hosts very welcoming . We would definitely recommend to anyone. And will probably return.
Jackie did a great job of keeping us updated with booking, location and arrival details, really appreciated in this strangest of times. The cleaning regime faultless, the cottage amazing. On the farm but away from everything if you prefer. Given great space to run the puppy - can't tell you how much he enjoyed it!!
Beautifully located, the views over the moors.....spectacular. Local villages minutes away. North Yorkshire Moors Railway providing the perfect get away for a day.
We'll be back 😃
An excellent property, situated in a wonderful part of England on a working farm. Spectacular views, incredible dark skies and a very comfortable, clean and homely property to stay in. Our hosts Jacqui and John were very welcoming and throughout the booking process, interrupted by the national lockdown, were extremely helpful in helping us rearrange our dates. Highly recommend this property
We stayed for a few nights over the bank holiday weekend and had a lovely, relaxing break. The cottage was spotlessly clean and was very well equipped. We also had our cockapoo with us who really enjoyed chasing his ball on the front grass. We came well prepared with food (and wine) as there aren't any large shops close by, and we weren't intending to eat out (what with covid restrictions and having a dog). The cottage is very close to Whitby, moorland villages, and also Runswick Bay which is a beautiful, dog friendly beach (and we got lucky with the weather!). Jackie and John are great hosts and we would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful break.
We (two adults and one dog) had a lovely few days in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our hosts John and Jacky could not have been more helpful and even the weather was kind to us.
If you like the great outdoors and life on the farm then this is the perfect spot for you.

Whether you are walking, cycling, enjoying the countryside or want a quiet beautiful location to use as a base this property is perfect. Tucked away this property has everything you need, inside and stunning views outside. Jackie and John made us so welcome. They were on hand for any questions but respected your privacy. We had a great 4 days and left feeling very refreshed and relaxed. Thank you.

Lovely Break, Great Cottage, Welcoming Owners.
Thanks to John and Jackie for the lovely warm welcome to their property. Myself and the Boys (5&7) had a great time , and my wife when she joined us too.
We loved the locality, the cottage was warm, beautifully presented and so comfy. Everything we needed was provided including the welcome milk and wine (very much needed in half term)
We will be back im sure.
Thanks again, Justin

Comfortable and very quiet
Our holiday here was very enjoyable.
The accommodation was very comfortable and despite being on a working farm was also very quiet. Well equipped kitchen, spacious open plan living area along with decent sized bedrooms. The shower room appeared shoehorned in but in reality was fine. Comfy beds and sofas, and a wood burner available for the cooler evenings. The farm is over 200 metres altitude and great views available across the countryside.
There was much to do in the area, without having to travel miles. Walks, cycling, moorland, coastline, steam trains, fish & chips. Great stuff.
There were no issues while we stayed here, however if there had been I have no doubt the friendly owners would have done their utmost to help. We would book here again and recommend it to others.

Beautiful location and comfortable accommodation
Although the weather wasn't great it didn't stop us enjoying our stay at Greenlands. Ideally located on the moorland for walkers, although quite isolated, it was only a five minute drive to the village and fifteen minutes to Whitby. It was a pleasure to take a drive out to sightsee other beautiful hamlets and villages in the surrounding areas.
Our cottage was pleasingly well equipped, spacious and clean. Modern natural decor complimented the barn conversion with its cosy wood fire.
The open plan, spacious lounge area and well equipped kitchen area was a plus as plenty room for the children to play. The two upstairs bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin room were also spacious with storage etc on the landing area. Shower room although quite compact was adequate and provided ample plush towels, shower gel etc.
To the front of the cottage was a small play area which our two young grandchildren throughly enjoyed.
John and Jackie were very welcoming and on hand, should we have need them. The cottage is a credit to them.
Would not hesitate to recommend and would visit again in future.

Wonderful location and welcoming owners.
We had a long weekend at the cottage which started with a warm welcome from Jackie. Nothing was to much trouble and only a knock at their door or a phonecall away. The cottage was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed a very relaxing few days, especially in front of the log burner. If you're looking for a peaceful break then this could be the place for you. The only thing I would mention is that due to the nature of the building. The roof space, especially in the bathroom is quite low, not a problem for ourselves only been being short but taller guests may struggle. I personally wouldn't let this put you off. Overall I would recommend this cottage. Look forward to going back in the future. One very happy guest.
