I stayed to go to the Holiday Dinner and Show which was great. It was also crowded with nowhere to park. My boyfriend is elderly and cannot walk long distances as the hotel room, was several blocks away from where the dinner was and show. I had the last handicapped parking spot by my room entrance. When I drove him to the show someone took that spot and I had to go around back and make my way to the front of Wilson lodge by the lake for the last handicapped parking space. Somehow I made my way through the halls and to the elevator to the dinner that was still going on but it is confusing and easy to get lost which I found going to get the car after the trolley tour of the Festival of Lights, I learned one can stay inside and get to my room but I could not get out the door to my car. I had to walk all the way around which I did not mind it is an enjoyable walk, but I had to leave my friend at the bar where he was about to have a drink and really join the rowdy party and he is 94 years old. I f you get driving around hunting parking spots at night especially, there is this paved road that goes up the hill like one of the regular roads and many of the roads are narrow single lane. It goes to the top of the hill to Wilson Lodge but at the top there is this cement slab not too high maybe six inches with two cement tire tracks and another drop of six inches at the end I hope it did not bother my car because I took that road and went over it to get that parking space.

One of the best accommodation stays I’ve experienced in a while. The only negative thing I could say (and it’s not a big deal) is that some loose trash bags were left on the floor of the living area. But we just put them in one of the cabinets so no big deal. The staff were all super friendly and dining at the Skyline couldn’t have been better. We will be making this a yearly excursion for my husbands birthday on a yearly basis!

It was nice but expensive! The only thing that you could do without paying was walk. We lost electricity for about 3 hours right over the dinner hour and the only thing offered was the high priced buffet. Fortunately we sat at the bar and was offered a salad. Nice place, won’t go back.

We had such a wonderful and relaxing weekend this past weekend. We were looking for some place to go and celebrate our anniversary and am so glad we chose to stay here. The hotel, staff and restaurants were amazing. We are looking to bring our whole family there for a family getaway since there are so many things everyone can do, especially keeping our 6 grandchildren occupied and happy!

We had been to the resort in the past and it was wonderful. I can't say that this time. The dining choices were few, food was just ok, My husband and I both got sick from the pizza which tasted like someone put sugar in the sauce. When we got in out room we were going to put drinks in the fridge, it was off. We tried to turn it on for a couple hours, it didn't work at all. In the bathroom the ceiling fan vent was covered in "fur" from the dirt. Little to do. Staff at the bar in the hotel was very nice. 20.00 for breakfast buffet that was rather limited and not more than average. This was a disappointing trip from our last stay.

Oglebay Resort is an amazing area with all its beauty and views. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. We were not "wowed" by staff as they tended to be distant and not willing to help us when we had an issue with billing.
