BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Elk Crossing is a great base camp for exploring the Yellowstone area. It’s just 8 miles to the park entrance, is surrounded by national forest trails for hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling, and it’s a short drive to a quiet cove on Hebgen Lake. With 1700 square feet of living space and an open floor plan to the kitchen, dining area and great room, it’s a very comfortable home for your group. There’s an attached two-car garage for guest use.
BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS: The home has three bedrooms and two baths. The master has a king size bed, views to the mountains, your own door to the deck, and a fabulous master bath with a walk-in rainforest shower and a large jetted soaking tub. At the other end of the house are two additional bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with two twin beds. They share a full bath with tub and shower.
KITCHEN/DINING: This is a great kitchen for a group as it opens to the bar, the dining area, and the living room. It’s equipped with everything you need to cook and entertain, including a smooth top electric range, tons of serving pieces and picnic ware, and small appliance extras like a crock pot, electric mixer and blender. The dining table seats six comfortably and the bar accommodates another four. There’s also a dining table and a barbecue for enjoying outdoor meals on the back deck.
LIVING ROOM: The great room has a gas fireplace with a rock hearth, a flat screen HD TV with satellite service, a beautiful knotty pine cathedral ceiling and comfy seating. Huge picture windows let in lots of natural light and a door just past the dining table leads to the back deck!
SETTING: Elk Crossing is set in the meadow of a quiet, woodsy vacation home neighborhood about 8 miles west of West Yellowstone, which is the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It sits on one half acre and enjoys incredible views of Lionhead Mountain and other peaks along the Continental Divide. You’re likely to see elk, moose, and maybe even a bear in this beautiful wild area!
OUTDOOR AMENITIES: The large back deck is perfect for morning coffee and for dinner with a sunset view of the mountains. Two chaise lounges are there for when you want to just do nothing. For snowmobilers, there’s a two-car garage for parking your rigs.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES: In winter you can snowmobile right from the house and get onto hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails. If you prefer Nordic skiing, West Yellowstone’s Rendezvous Trails are a short drive away and you can explore Yellowstone Park by snow coach. In summer, there’s hiking and mountain biking right out the door, fishing on blue ribbon streams, boating on Hebgen Lake, and of course – day trips into Yellowstone Park. There’s so much to do!
