Spectacular home on 60 acres, swimming pond & trails, pet friendly + EV charger
This spacious, eco-friendly, pet-friendly and very private timber frame property is in E Orange, Vermont where sugar maples and mountain views abound. Relax on the large deck or take a swim in our private pond. Hike or bike on miles of well-maintained single and double track trails. Evenings can be spent roasting marshmallows from Adirondack chairs around the fire pit (firewood provided) or playing ping pong in the basement. If you enjoying cooking, you will love our well-appointed, open plan kitchen with breakfast bar and country-style dining room table. There is also a large picnic table and gas grill for outdoor dining with complimentary views of the Milky Way, and during the day your kids may enjoy exploring the brook or pond, playing board games, flying high on our rope swing or curling up with a book from our extensive children's book collection. If you need to stay connected, we have now installed high speed fiber optic service so you can work from away without interference from weather or external users. And you will find a level 2 EV charger to ensure you have plenty of charge in your electric vehicle to explore the surrounding area. This is a delightful spot to enjoy the quiet beauty of Vermont in any season.

This house looks gorgeous, and what's more, the view is amazing, we all love it. we had a really great time in this house. I got a maple syrup as a gift, it tasted amazing.
Beautiful home in a beautiful location. The owners were wonderful to work with, everything went very smoothly. Would definitely return next time we are in the area!
Perfect place for the attendees to a local craft retreat to stay and experience the beauty of Vermont. The house had everything the guests needed to be completely content and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Such a great property! We came for the eclipse but absolutely did not want to leave. The home was clean, well-equipped, cozy and perfect. Our hosts were communicative and lovely. I am looking forward to coming back again soon; our experience couldn’t have been better.
This is a unbelievable property with beautiful views and spaces to explore. We can’t wait to come back. The hosts are great and we even had the refrigerator go bad which they replaced the next day. If you are coming to Vermont this is the place to stay.
Our group of 6: grandparent, parents, 3 kids had a great time staying here. Spacious home, beautiful surroundings, lots of room to roam around for the kids. Very peaceful and private. We loaded up on food for the week and large ate in the house. It’s somewhat of a drive to get to restaurants and attractions, but we didn’t mind.
10/10 for our stay. The place is beautiful, very clean, and had all the things needed to make our stay stress free. Such an enjoyable time. They even had bowls for the dogs. They also had boxes of blocks/cars, our kids absolutely enjoyed this part. Such a nice time
Beautiful views, awesome trails, amazing property and a clean, comfortable, and cute house. And a great swimming pond! What more could you ask for? Genevieve was super nice and responsive. We can’t wait to stay again, it was the perfect week.
Relaxing and quiet. beautiful views. Comfortable and nicely appointed amenities. Our short stay did not allow time or have the weather cooperate to
explore the available trails but looked interesting. We spent quality family time removed from the hustle and bustle of the world. It was just what we needed.
Where do we begin? Genevieve and Colin's place was amazing. It was beautiful, spacious, welcoming, warming, and so comfortable. The pictures really don't do justice to the house and its surroundings. Our group of four got together to reconnect and work (a writing retreat). The hosts were amazingly prompt when communicating with us. We can't wait to return.
Colin and Genevieve's home was the perfect setting for a milestone birthday celebration with eight friends. The seating areas and bedrooms were all comfortable and the large dining room table was perfect for our meals. Kitchen and bathrooms were modern, well-equipped and clean. We appreciated the fresh flowers inside the house and the seasonal decor on the comfortable deck. The hosts have thought of everything!
This property was wonderful. Exactly as advertised. Views were outstanding and the house had everything we needed. My husband and I stayed with our adult children and their significant others. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The property is literally in the middle of nowhere, but for us that was no problem because we had family close by. I would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our needs.
The house is so pretty, beautiful views from every room! Huge gorgeous property with a pond and trails on it. It’s a great place to be back to nature and enjoy only the sounds of birds, bugs and frogs from the pond. There’s lots of space for kids and dogs to run around. If you like reading that have a wonderful collection of books too.
The hosts are very helpful and answer questions promptly and help solve any issues that may come up.
This was our second year at Rock Place and we had a wonderful time! The house is in the middle of nowhere in the best possible way. Our young adults and dogs had space to roam, relax, and play. The Hannaford in nearby Barre had everything we could need grocery-wise, and we had dinner out one night at the Ladder One Grill, also in Barre.
Burlington is a great day trip, and don’t forget the Ben and Jerry’s factory tour. (Pro tip: Book your tickets 2 weeks before you travel.)
Or, be like us and hang out around the fire, on the deck, or by the pond and just enjoy nature with your favorite people then play some Rummikub after dinner.
The house has all the linens and kitchen ware you need and the beds are super comfortable!
Our family has rented VRBO properties during October in the North Country 8 times. This place is at the top of the list. The host was quick to respond to questions and pleasant to deal with. We are a multigenerational family ranging from 68 years to 17 months. And we love dogs. It’s hard to find places that can accommodate our wish list. But this home fits the bill. Comfortable rooms but the sleeping loft doesn’t have much privacy and the staircase takes some practice. Kitchen is a dream. Views are mesmerizing. We are already hoping to return at other times of the year. Thank you Genevieve and Colin !!
Everything you want and need at this country oasis!
This property was even better in person than the listing suggests. The property owners have thought of everything and there are so many special touches in the house and on the property that we wanted even more time to simply enjoy the space! We were immediately impressed by the gorgeous bouquets of fresh flowers throughout the house and the thoughtful handwritten note with additional info and suggestions for our stay. The house very comfortably slept our group of 8 adults. We loved cooking in the large kitchen, picking fresh veggies from the garden, swimming in the pond, hiking and biking the trails nearby, and ending our night either watching the fireflies (truly incredible!) or sitting around the firepit making s'mores. There was something for everyone! We wished we could have stayed longer and would happily book again if we find ourselves back in Vermont. Thank you for sharing your idyllic property with us!
This area of Vermont is very special to my family, so we were excited to find a VRBO listing and thrilled to see everything it has to offer. The house is well equipped and spacious. The property and view are incredible. Definitely would like to plan a repeat visit.
We loved our vacation here. There is so much to do on the property. The pond is good for swimming, but not much of a shore so you have to go off the dock. The owners are super responsive and made sure our stay was great. The trails are a lot of fun. There is only one small TV, which was fine for us as we were busy with other activities, but just wanted to note it. We could very easily spend another week here and would be happy to visit again. It was one of our best family vacations!
We love our time at Genevieve and Colin’s amazing house and property and this was our third year! They are amazing and attentive hosts. We had everything we needed including the maple syrup they left for us (it’s amazing in coffee, btw).
If you want a quiet getaway in a beautiful setting and don’t necessarily want to see many other people , this is the place for you! You can hike, bike, swim, hammock, contemplate nature, then head into Barre to the grilled cheese restaurant.
The pictures and description do not begin to do this property justice! It is truly a piece of heaven on earth. The home is spotless and cozy, the grounds are breathtaking, and the hostess could not have been more helpful. Every detail was perfection! We can’t wait to be back next fall! Thank you, Genevieve!
We had a fabulous time! The setting is heavenly, from the hammock chair to the pond to watching sunrise from bed, it is truly idyllic. The host was very responsive and we had everything we needed. The beds and linens were comfortable and we had all the extra towels and blankets we could possibly need. There are all the modern kitchen amenities, which is very luxurious for Vermont! The wild blackberries were in season and we found a few blueberries growing! Definitely pack a frisbee or a football to throw because there is a ton of space for that.
One thing you need to know: the stairs are a little steep and would be tough for older folks.
