"Bartles Lodge is a gem of a hotel. It’s situated in a very peaceful and serene village, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. "Lovely spacious room. Comfy bed. No one on reception when we got there on Friday Dec 27th but after ringing a phone number and leaving a message we were greeted by the owners son. We were asked if we wanted a meal that night or breakfast in the morning which we didnt need. It would have been nice to visit the bar on Friday pm but we found it closed at 9:45pm when we tried to visit it. Maybe it would be open later a different day or in the summer. A pleasant stay if you want to stay in your room."

"Although it was a good stay and in an excellent location, the room we stayed in was very dusty and needed a good clean. Bathroom blind was very dusty, exposed wires from a towel rail. Bedroom needed dusting and windows that opened needed cleaning. Confusion over the bill when we left."
