Disliked: Cleanliness
A nightmare for young families
I understand the risk of not being taken seriously when leaving an unfavorable review like this. But for anybody that has a young family like mine, I’m willing to take that risk so that they may avoid the situation we ran into.
I was attending a business conference in West Palm Beach and thought it would be fun to bring my young family to spend a week near the beach while I was working (wife, four kids under 7, and my mother-in-law).
But after one night in this home, I had to scramble to find my family another place to stay because it was so unreasonable to keep them in there.
I’ll just list the reasons for you why:
* The house was in a visibly unsafe part of town… 20min from the beach.
* There were animal feces right around the perimeter of the pool.
* The house reeked of mold and mildew.
* The bunkbed room (clearly a room for kids) had a back door to the pool with locks that wouldn’t work.
* The shower had a window into the laundry room that wouldn’t shut (total lack of privacy).
* The fan/light in the master bedroom wouldn’t work (extremely hot at night).
* The bed comforters were unclean (felt like a Motel 6).
And when I asked for a partial refund for the nights that we didn’t stay, being willing to pay for the first night and for the cleaning fee, the host didn’t answer me for days. It seemed like he was purposefully ignoring my messages.
