Your Michigan vacation begins with lots of full length windows, and airy skylights. Complete with a front and back deck, three bedrooms, and 1 full bath. There is a queen sleeper sofa for additional sleeping. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, 2 outdoor tables, charcoal grill, fireplace, ping pong table, 2 kayaks and 1 canoe! The beach will be found at the bottom of about 50 steps and a pathway. This slightly higher up placement makes for even better views! We can honestly say this place is nothing short of a delight. Located midway between Holland and Grand Haven, this gem is within an easy drive to either. Walk downtown Holland's cobblestone sidewalks and browse its unique and locally owned shops, restaurants, galleries, and amazing farmers market. Enjoy Thursday evening street performers during the summer. Or head north to Grand Haven (recently named the "Happiest Seaside Town in America," by Coastal Living Magazine) and walk the boardwalk stretching one and a half miles, beginning at Chinook Pier and ending at the iconic red lighthouse. Historic, affordable, and amusing, the Grand Haven trolley is continually traveling throughout the waterfront and downtown areas. At the end of the day, grab a blanket to sit on and head to the Waterfront Stadium where the whole family can enjoy the "World's Largest" Musical Fountain. This free show of synchronized lights, water and music plays nightly at dusk throughout the summer.
Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy easy access from this cottage to the Lakeshore Connector Bike Path, running between Holland and Grand Haven, with several beachfront parks along the way. Hikers and golfers can choose among numerous and diverse parks and golf courses an easy drive away. Or just stay put and enjoy this special location - watch the sunset from your deck, take a beach walk to the Port Sheldon pier, or, if the weather is calm, hop into the canoe and/or kayak (both included), head into the Port Sheldon channel and explore Pigeon Lake.
