Our stay in Lefktro in late September/early October was generally enjoyable but unfortunately affected by a very bad storm, during which there were high winds followed by torrential rains for nearly three days. The second bedroom was affected by a fall of dust, presumably from the ceiling, during the night of the high winds and by water ingress during the rain downpour. Our friends had to move to the third bedroom which has inadequate natural light. In addition the house lost its electricity connection for more than two days, when it was detached by the storm.
The owner, Stella, who lives in Athens was understanding and helpful (as was the neighbour) and arranged for us and our friends to be relocated to a local hotel for two nights. Fortunately, the weather then improved and we were able to enjoy the remainder of our stay. The house was spacious and we particularly enjoyed the large first floor terrace which had fine views of Stoupa and the coast.
The house was not properly equipped for the circumstances we encountered. There were insufficient candles, the torch we found had no batteries and even when some were purchased, it did not work as the battery contacts were corroded. In addition, some of the lights did not work (when the electrical power was on) and neither did the fan in the main bedroom.
The visitor experience would be improved by the owner having a full check electrical check of the property carried out, as well as the roof repairs. For English guests the kitchen would benefit from a toaster and teapot being provided.
