Irresistible Charm And Tranquility

If you're looking for the quintessential log cabin getaway on your own private creek, you've found it! Nestled in the woods along Old Fields Creek, Creekside Escape is the ultimate in charm and personality. It's a small home with a big heart, in an unbeatable location.

The setting is utter perfection for anyone seeking stress-relief and the serenity of nature. Although the trickling song of a “babbling brook” may sound cliché, there truly is a unique and irresistible lullaby quality to it that eases the soul. Enjoy the delight of just sitting on the deck, or at the edge of the creek, trailing your feet in the water.

Unlike many mountain cabins, this home also offers a grassy yard for the kids and dogs play, complete with lawn chairs. The spacious deck is equipped with comfortable seating and a dining area, including a propane grill. Since the deck is just steps from the kitchen, you'll find this to be an unbeatable spot for tranquil – and yet convenient – dining al fresco. You won't know true relaxation until you've been in a hot tub in the woods, surrounded by trees, listening to the creek, with stars overhead.

The interior of the cabin is cozy, with a cathedral ceiling, gas fireplace and unique, appealing decor. Tasteful decorating fills the cabin. The open floor plan inspires socializing, as it brings the kitchen, lounging and entertainment areas together, directly adjacent to the large deck. The well-equipped kitchen accommodates wonderful entertaining and at-home meals, complete with a dishwasher for easy clean-up. After dinner, enjoy the fireplace and TV from the attractive and comfortable couches.

You'll find a number of sleeping options in this well-designed cabin, including a loft with a queen-sized bed, a delightful enclosed sun porch, also with a queen, and a hidden cubby-hole “bedroom” kids will adore.

This home gives you the chance to get away from it all, at an affordable price, in a setting you'll still think of fondly, years later. And you can still connect to your world with wireless internet and satellite TV.

Explore The High Country

Creekside Escape is nestled in a private setting in West Jefferson, just 2 minutes from the Mountain Aire golf course and 10 minutes from downtown. West Jefferson is small-town Americana at its finest. You'll find restaurants and terrific shopping, including antiques, crafts and art galleries. Watch cheese being made at the famous Ashe County Cheese Factory and don't miss the quaint general store, stocked with ice cream, fudge and all sorts of other tasty treats. Feel as if you've stepped back in time while walking through West Jefferson.

The New River wanders peacefully throughout Ashe County, offering visitors amazing days filled with fishing, swimming, canoeing, tubing or kayaking. Several nearby river outfitters will quickly hook you up with everything you need. Other outdoor activities here include hiking, biking, horseback riding, and ziplines during the warmer months, or sledding, snowboarding and skiing all winter long. The ski resort at Sugar Mountain is only 40 minutes away. You can also take your kids to the Tweetsie Railroad between Boone and Blowing Rock, or let them mine for gems!

But don't forget that irresistible mountain scenery at every turn. Fall is indescribably gorgeous.

Charming cottage
Nice, clean, cute little house with a fantastic hot tub. My only quibble is it was listed as two bedrooms but in fact there are no bedrooms - rather a loft open to the floor below and then two beds tucked into corners of the downstairs living area... It was fine for us but surprising!

Practically perfect retreat!
Came on my own to recharge my introvert battery, and this place was such a great place to do it. The fireplace keeps the whole cabin cozy, even with high winds and single digit wind chills! The hot tub was the perfect place to soak and enjoy the snow falling all around me. The back deck would be perfect for small groups and there’s enough yard for kids to play if you have them with you. The kitchen was more equipped than the listing indicated, but does need a big stock pot. The location was perfect- there were houses all around but I could only really see one across the creek and way up the hill. There are SO many rhododendrons that I can only imagine the beauty when they bloom. The house feels so private and quiet but you are maybe 5-10 minutes from West Jefferson. The driveway is the steepest part of your trek in and out, and it’s not bad. Things to keep in mind: -every bed downstairs is elevated with only a small step stool to get in and out. Because they are wedged into corners it’d be a bit tricky to have 2 adults in there! One of the beds is on a platform thing so high that it really needs a two-step stool to climb in and out. -the third bed is up a tiny, narrow spiral staircase that I wouldn’t have felt comfortable navigating for middle of the night potty breaks downstairs. I loved my stay and hope to come back again next year.

Cozy and quiet
Though there were only 2 adults for our stay, this cabin would easily accommodate 6 (as long as everyone can schedule around 1 bathroom). Very clean, well appointed, and directions for use of pretty much everything in the house were included. Outdoor area (deck, hot tub, fire pit, creekside porch) is fabulous, and would be great for adults and kids any time of the year. This home made for a peaceful weekend.

Had a great weekend staying at the cabin for a girls weekend to celebrate my birthday! The cabin is so cute and cozy! The corner sleeping nook was my favorite, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We loved the hot tub by the creek and using the firepit. Thanks for a great weekend!

Perfect getaway
This place is so much better than the listing shows. It’s perfectly quaint and located right next to a babbling stream which made sleeping so peaceful. The house is cozy and comfortable and perfectly located near West Jefferson for dinner and shopping, but also near so many hiking trails.

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend here. Incredibly comfortable. Only downfall was getting locked out with two little kids in the cold! Strongly recommend replacing the door handle on the back porch. Would benefit from a keypad entrance.

Snowy Weekend Getaway
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is unique and well furnished. One recommendation would be that it needs more heat besides the gas logs for snowy conditions. We were there during windy weather with snow and there was cold air coming in through one of the windows, making it quite chilly. Thankfully, we brought extra blankets to keep us warm. We enjoyed the beautiful creek, fire pit, and hot tub. Quaint little cabin for a family weekend getaway!
