The cottage is perfect for anyone looking for a true cape vacation experience from its’ knotty pine interior, outdoor shower, clothesline in the backyard and the sounds of fans running to cool down the house. My family loves it and we are looking forward to another week next year.
The Crowells were amazing. If we called they either called back or showed up very quickly. They were wonderful. The cottage was lovely and overall worked for our needs. Would love to stay here again as long as my circumstances do not change.
We stayed for 8 nights and the last five were unexpectedly hot and very humid. The house was not air conditioned but there were plenty of fans to circulate the air. It is an older Cape home and could use an overall « refresh » of slipcovers, some window screens need replacing for tears and other things in general, but it is very spacious and location to the beach can’t be beat! Would stay again.

Not what I was expecting
The house was more dated than the pictures show. The wall paper looks as if it had been there for 20+ years and peeling off the walls and water stains on the ceilings. One burner on the stove doesn’t work. We opened a cabinet door in the living room to see if there were board games because it was raining and it was full of cob webs. The gutters were full of pines needles. Not at all warm and welcoming. Contacting the owner was difficult. I messaged with some questions and after 5 days of no response I messaged her again and finally got a response but didn’t answer all my questions. Had an electrical issue and there were papers on the fridge with contact numbers for rental agency and all the rules/ house info, so we called that number because it took so long for her to get back to us through the app (which is the only contact info she gave). They informed us that they sold the house years ago and luckily were able to provide us with her phone number. She was very prompt with resolving the electrical issue but overall communication was not good. Very short 8 minute walk to a nice beach and short driving distance to other towns to find things to do because other than the beach, there wasn’t a lot to do right there.
It was a wonderful time and a wonderful Cottage. The owners have always been very responsive and wonderful to work with looking forward to hopefully going back next year for two more weeks.
This cottage was great for our week on Cape Cod. We had a 10 minute walk to Harding's Beach and close driving distance to downtown Chatham. It had everything we needed for the week, just had to bring our linens/towels. Loved the outdoor shower!!
We have stayed here twice and I like the feel of this place. It is a bit old fashioned but I enjoy this in a vacation place. It reminded me of summers spent with my grandparents. There are a lot of nice seating areas outside. It is a short walk to the beach and easy to jump on the bike trail from here.
This is a spacious cottage in a great location, just .5 miles from Chatham’s main beach. If you walk or bike, you don’t even need a beach permit. Quiet, rustic setting. Cottage is old-fashioned; since we were there during a blistering heat wave, the lack of AC mattered (atypical for the Cape with its sea breezes). But lots of fans helped and in normal weather, it would be just fine.
Classic cape cottage. I would suggest adding air conditioning and perhaps a larger TV for the family couch potatoes. Great front deck, could use a new stove and gas grill. Driveway is steep but not much can be done about that.
Overall a good value, we enjoyed our stay.
We had an excellent stay! House is in a perfect location- short walk to beach or an even shorter drive. The house is also close to downtown.
Property was very clean. Typical New England/cape cod old charm. Check in (3pm) and out (10am) were super easy.
We are a family of 6 so there was enough room for all of us. Great house to stay in with kids because of the location to beach as well as layout of the house ( our kids are 9, 7 , 4 and 4.). Loved that it came with a keurig and had a washer/dryer. We brought our own bedding and towels as well as plates, cups, utensils but the house did come with a stocked kitchen.
Would recommend this house!
