"Lovely period hotel with mostly period furniture. Very welcoming and helpful staff. I was staying on my own but there was such a good friendly atmosphere I didn’t feel “on my own”. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas."

Good stay in a comfy room

"Hotel part was amazing. Great food in the resteraunt too. Really nice spacious room, well equipped. Spa was a bit disappointing, quite a few facilities out of order. Also a guy with a child in the spa area and another in there using a phone! Made my partner a bit uneasy with it being a camera phone. ..."

Great hotel could do better

"Lovely setting. Overall hotel really nice - the bedroom was a great size and very clean Unfortunately the pizza in the bar at dinner was very basic and tasteless and not worth the money - the pillows on the bed were like bricks and the attention to detail at breakfast was not good"
