Serendipity is an all inclusive camp experience. Slow down, daydream, have a glass of wine, and let yourself relax. Located on a private acre at the banks of Lake Webb.
Enjoy a sunrise paddle, indulge in an evening swim at sunset and revel with a bon fire under the dark starry skies at night. There is hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing, blueberry picking and more. Almost Home!
We renovated Camp Serendipity with love and care! The retro/classic design takes you back to a simpler time. Fiesta plates, antique touches, projection movie system, stereo and Vinyl Record Collection make this a unique and fun place to step back in time and truly relax.
The main cottage sleeps 5, the bunkhouse studio sleeps 2.
The boathouse is located on the lake and is a wonderful camping escape for 2 adventurous "glampers". (Not intended as a full-time sleep space.)
The camp has all the amenities needed to make your stay memorable and relaxing. The private dock, the use of 4 kayaks, 4 bikes, a paddle board and sunfish sailboat are all included in your rental! (Local rental value for these items is more than $1900 per week.)
On chilly nights you can play one of our guitars, play a game and warm up by a roaring fire. There is no TV, but you can make some popcorn and watch a projected movie outside on the deck or listen to albums on our state of the art stereo. Later, gaze at the starry night sky and enjoy a bonfire sitting on our comfy Adirondack chairs by the lake. End the evening with a relaxing candlelit bath in the wooden soaking tub.
MAIN COTTAGE KITCHEN:
As chefs, we appointed the small galley kitchen with all your needs!
There are pots and pans of all sizes, a crock pot for soups on chilly days and a selection of spices, oils and vinegars. There is also a Coffee Maker, (filters and beans provided) a coffee press, grinder for beans and an electric tea kettle (teas and sugar provided). For the BBQ aficionados, we have a Weber propane grill and a Cuisinart griddle located on the expansive deck overlooking the lake.
MAIN COTTAGE SLEEPING:
The downstairs sleeping nook for 2 is our very favorite place to sleep in the world. Think tiny sleeping closet! The queen sized mattress is by Nectar and it is splendid. Close the barn doors and surround yourself with an eclectic collection of books, notecards and nostalgia. The upstairs loft, overlooking the lake, sleeps 1 in a twin bed and 2 more in a queen size bed. Think Cozy and comfy!
The main cottage bathroom features a wooden soaking tub! There is also a fantastic outdoor shower attached to the bathroom.
THE BUNKHOUSE:
Our new studio bunkhouse sleeps 2 in a wonderful handcrafted post and beam queen sized bed. There is also a comfy fold-up mattress for your tot stored under the bed. You will find a small kitchenette featuring a Keurig Coffee maker, electric tea kettle, Breville oven, a retro red fridge, a comfy sitting area with an electric fireplace, a full bath with shower and a private deck with lake views. The bunkhouse is located less than 35 feet from the main cottage.
BOATHOUSE:
Our second favorite place to sleep is in the Boathouse! When you are in need of a little adventure, take a turn camping in the boathouse on the lake. This newly renovated space is "glamping" at its best! About a 100 feet from the cottage, this little house sits directly on the lake and will sleep 2 adventurous souls! There is NO BATHROOM, but waking up to the sound of the loons and a view of the sunrise over Lake Webb is perfection. There is a small Keurig in the bunkhouse so you can enjoy your morning coffee at the edge of the lake.
THE CAMP
Beautiful Lake Webb is an ideal location for hiking, boating, paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking, golfing, fishing and more! Relax on one of 3 decks, or the hammock and read a good book. The dock and grounds are available for your exclusive use.
Included with your rental is a sunfish sailboat, 4 kayaks and a paddle board available for your use during your stay. Life vests are also supplied. These water toys are all located directly on our dock or moored for easy use.
While everything in the cottage is new, please keep in mind this is still a "camp" and the town of Weld is not a resort community. If you need a lot of in-house privacy, this experience is probably not for you. Think Rustic!
Rustic: adjective 're-stik
1. :of, relating to, or suitable for the country: RURAL//rustic rolling farmland
2. :characteristic of or resembling country people
3. :appropriate to the country (as in plainness or sturdiness) // heavy rustic boots.
There is NO DISHWASHER and you might even see an occasional mouse.
There are scenic views, loons, moose and a sense of timelessness. It isn't for everyone-but we dare you not to fall in love. Weld will steal your heart. Get ready for a unique opportunity to disconnect and reconnect.
The entire camp is located on one acre and is exclusively reserved for your access. This includes a private dock and all the buildings on the camp. Our home is your home!
We are always available to answer questions! We have a camp manager who is available should there be any issues during your stay.
Weld offers some of the most incredible hiking and biking options in all of Maine. Hike Tumbledown and take a swim at the top in Crater Lake. Bring your road bikes or use ours and ride around the 16 mile lake loop road or explore miles of dirt roads and trails with your mountain bikes. Only a 5 minute drive to Maine's largest state park, Mount Blue. Boat rentals, a beach and camping spots are available for your use. Pick Blueberries, listen to the loons, look for a moose, read a book, take a swim off the dock, play chess, or just sit and stare at the lake! There is no better place to relax and play.
Weld is home to historic Kawanhee Inn, which offers gourmet lakeside dining. Make plans to dine at the Inn and enjoy gourmet meals. It will be a highlight of your stay. Also, the Calzolaio Pasta Company in Wilton is just a 20 minute drive and is not to be missed! This wonderful Italian restaurant is also offering curbside take-out service. Pick-up some fantastic beer and say hi to Jeff at Ambition Brewery.
Farmington, ME is only a 30 minute drive and is home to many cute shops, good restaurants (The Beer Garden is a favorite and known for great wings and burgers!), a farmers market all summer on Saturdays and a movie theatre.
1. We have a professional pest control service. However, this is a camp and there is no foundation to the cottages. You are also living in the woods in nature. Please understand that an occasional mouse or moose is a possibility. We provide canisters to store all open dry foods. We also suggest you keep food put away and off the counters and garbage in secured cans at all times. This will HELP keep the mice at bay!
2. Firewood is supplied for your stay.
3. We love dogs and would love for them to join your on your vacation! There is a $100 per fee. Unfortunately, we cannot host cats due to a severe family allergy.
4. We have the new Starlink WIFI. Usually good enough for zoom calls and remote work.
5. The lake is located about 100 feet from the house at the bottom of a small hill. Note: The walk to the lake is no issue for most people. However, it is a hill and probably not suitable for anyone who can't climb stairs.
