Mt. Hood Family-Sized Condo

Sitting in front of the fireplace on a cool brisk morning, sipping a hot drink, while watching the deer graze on the lush green grass of the golf course is a great way to start the day. This is a typical morning that you can enjoy while staying at Whispering Woods.

Located in Welches, Oregon, Whispering Woods Resort by VRI Americas, is within a 5-minute walk of Cascade Range and The Courses at Resort at the Mountain. Nearby outdoor activities like fishing, hiking and skiing are within minutes from this resort located at the base of Mt Hood.

If you want to enjoy snow sports, head to Mt. Hood Skibowl. This is the largest night ski area in the nation. The Cosmic Tubing lanes are illuminated by 600,000+ colored LED lights. Go expert on the area’s 34 black diamond runs, the most of any resort in Oregon.

Head up to Timberline Lodge where you can see pictures of the lodge in scenes of the movie The Shining. Enjoy a nice meal and a hot drink after a day of skiing or climbing one of the many runs or summits. Skiing is usually open all year round at Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge, which makes this lodge a perfect choice for summer skiing.

Close by day trips to Hood River (great wind surf watching), The Dalles and Sandy are perfect destinations for great food, beer, wine and shopping. If you like sightseeing, drive up the Columbia Gorge scenic highway. Stop and see the famous Multnomah Falls or many of the other water falls in the area.

The massive Columbia River separates the two states of Oregon and Washington. The scenic route on either side of the river is one of the most beautiful sights for both states. The Historic Columbia River highway on the Oregon side is a great drive with many little towns along the way. End your drive in Troutdale at the haunted historical McMenamins Edgefield Hotel for a McMenamins pint and a meal before heading back to the resort.

This artsy destination hotel has everything! You can spend all day walking the gardens where they harvest fresh fruit, vegetables, berries and herbs to use in their many on site restaurants. They grow their own grapes on site for their wine. The have a cigar bar that looks like a hobbit house. They have brewery tours, a movie theater, spa, glass blowing shop, golf course, concerts and more.

If you want to see the Pacific Ocean, it's only about a 2–3-hour drive from Whispering Woods. Visit the Tillamook cheese factory or one of the other unique small towns on the Oregon coast. Stay and watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. It's spectacular!
