About this property

The Moonlight - Glamping with Golf Cart and Soaking Tub on Homestead

Sleep under the star-filled sky in the glamorous Stargazer Lotus Belle Tent. Our space is designed with a clear roof so you can observe the moon, stars, and occasional lightning bug, all while resting in a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress and luxurious bedding.

The glampsite consists of a large deck housing the lotus belle tent (13 feet in diameter), an outhouse with composting toilet (just steps away from the tent, directions in check-in info), an open-air shower stall with hot water (hello, stars!), a sink, and small covered seating area. You will not have to leave the deck to access the outhouse or outdoor shower.

Inside the tent is a queen size bed with a very comfortable memory foam mattress with luxurious bedding and extra blankets and pillows if needed, a mini fridge with a bottle opener, and butcher block kitchen area with a coffee pot. We also included a telescope because on cloudless nights, our open field is the most romantic place for stargazing! Additionally, there are 2 headlamps included for your use. The tent is not air conditioned. It has an umbrella feature on the inside which can be manually put up if shade is desired. We do provide a fan to aid the air circulation, however in the hot days of summer, the tent is quite warm at mid-day. We do provide hammocks for cooler mid-day naps, if needed. There are also extra blankets available.

Adjacent to the deck area, we have created a cozy camp fire area surrounded by retro lighting, covered in gravel to minimize your contact with the dirt. You will find a remote control attached with Velcro to the bedside table so that the outside lights can be controlled from inside the tent. We’ve found that on the dimmest setting, it gives just enough light to find the bathroom, even on the darkest nights. There is a propane grill available for your use with utensils provided. You will find a supply of firewood stacked between two trees in the far corner of the campsite area. Additionally, we have supplied two double hammocks at the edge of the woods.

Note: this is a rustic stay and you will likely encounter ticks and other wildlife.

So much fun!!
The hosts (Sarah and John) sent very helpful and thorough check-in/general property instructions days before we arrived. This vacation rental is SO much fun. We loved it all— from checking out the land with the golf cart, to all the adorable animals that live there. It is a really unique rental, I cannot recommend it enough! If you like the idea of camping but don’t want to camp hardcore, this is the place for you. We would have stayed longer if we could have. Thank you so much John and Sarah!!

Can't wait to return! Coolest VRBO I've ever stayed in!
I booked this VRBO as a surprise to my boyfriend on our road trip in May. The property and glamping tent exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The host, Sarah, was one of the kindest humans. She truly thought of everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and fun stay. Comfy bed, hot water, fire pit, hammocks, coffee, and more! My only regret was not getting to stay more than one night. Convenient location to Weaverville and Asheville and such a charming property. I have had multiple friends reach out for the link to this place after seeing our photos and hearing our raving reviews. Can't wait for future stays!

One of the Best Stays We’ve Had!!!
They’ve thought of everything!! And I mean everything! Need something for light late at night, it’s right there next to the bed! Need fire starter, it’s waiting for you! Dice and cards? It’s there! And the quality of your stay is phenomenal! It’s an amazing experience!! I could rave on and on about my stay about this place!!! I can’t believe we were lucky enough to find this hidden gem!!!

The Moonlight has to be THE CUTEST little spot for a stay. The property is beautifully kept and the camping spot is in a very secluded area. The hosts have thought of every little detail for you to accommodated, even bug spray and fun little games to play. They had absolultely everything and it was clean, organized, as well as labeled with clear instruction. Come see for yourself if you fancy washing with moonlight outdoors in the steam of hot shower.

No "glamping" experience required!
The Moonlight is a lovely way to start glamping - it's easy to find but gives the impression of isolation, it's well-equipped with clear instructions throughout, and the hosts are always available to answer questions or address issues. The bed was, as promised, memory foam, and frankly, more comfortable than our own at home, and the tent was watertight, keeping us dry even after two hours of a heavy thunderstorm. Weaverville has a sweet main street, and the Moonlight's not too far from Hot Springs. Between all of the above and the chickens, I'm sure we'll be coming back soon.

A truly relaxing experience.
The property we stayed at was everything we had hoped for and more. This truly was glamping done right. The attention to detail was on point and exceeded our expectations. The drive to the heart of downtown Asheville was a short 20 minutes. The low light pollution made for great star gazing at night. If I find my self in Asheville again this would be my first choice of places to stay.
