Waubay Retreat

Waubay Walleyes and Wings Retreat is located on the north end of Waubay Lake in northeastern South Dakota - in the heart of great walleye fishing and duck, goose, deer and pheasant hunting. It's also a great place to simply enjoy some time away!

On the main level you will find the master bedroom with a king size bed and private bath. Adjacent in the hallway is the second bedroom and bath. The main living area boasts large picture windows and access to the large deck. In the fully equipped kitchen you will find a large island to gather around and it is open to the living room with sectional sofa and a soaring ceiling. The loft area is enclosed and is spacious with 4 twin beds and 1 double.
In the lower level you will find a second large family room, bathroom, third bedroom (queen bed + set of bunk beds). There is a second refrigerator if needed as well as a deep freeze in the lower level utility room. The refrigerator is kept unplugged when not in use, feel free to plug in as needed. Exit out either set of sliding glass doors, enjoy the patio or saunter down the steps to the dock and the189' of shoreline.

The exterior of the home boasts a large yard for games and activities, firepit and gas grill. Enjoy the 38' x 10' deck overlooking the lake. There is also a fish/game cleaning room on site with heat.

Came for the fishing, but the weather kept us indoors. The home had everything we needed to enjoy our time together even though we did not get to enjoy the lake/outdoors as much as we wanted. We have had a positive experience and would book this home again.

Our stay was excellent! The house was very clean, lots of room for our party of nine, and great view of the lake. Fishing was great, limited every day! We had a minor problem with the ac but it was taken care of immediately while we we're out fishing. Highly recommend and we will be return customers.

The fact that the dock wasn't open to tying up the boat was disappointing as was the fact that the water was a thick green kind of smelly concoction. Otherwise everything else was set up great and everything worked as it should. The home was clean and that made it feel comfortable to all of us.

Great cabin and location, but could use better up-keep
This was our second time staying at this cabin. Unfortunately the conditions had declined since our first stay. The door handle and the grill top were both broken upon arrival. Thankfully my father-in-law is a mr fix it and had tools on him and was able to fix these for our stay. Also could not find a fly swatter or a grill brush around anywhere; so we bought these items and ended up donating to the cabin. Not sure what previous guests had done to the pool table in the basement, but it was in rough shape unfortunately. The place itself is pretty dirty now, but this is not the cleaning lady's fault as she is only one person and only has a few hours in between parties to get the place clean. That really only leaves time for the basics. I would suggest hiring her additional help. I'm sure it is difficult to really know what is going on and maintaining your property when you live far away. This is a great place and great location. It's unfortunate that certain individuals just do not seem to care for property when it is not their own.

Awesome property! We had 9 adults in our fishing group. Plenty of sleeping beds & bathrooms. Open main living, dining & kitchen space allowed plenty of room for all to be in same space. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking amenities. Priced appropriately. Would definitely recommend this vrbo to anyone.

Great family fishing trip
Came to fish, 2 families of 5 with 2 boats. Plenty of room, large kitchen and dining table. Great fish cleaning facility. Able to access the cabin from Waubay Lake for quick bathroom and snack breaks. Were coming back next year!
