The woman we checked in with wasn't very friendly. We also requested an upper level room away from the elevator. What did we get? A room on the lowest level right next to the elevator. We booked well in advance when many rooms were still available, so they clearly ignored our requests. On top of that, the room had a noisy pipe that we couldn't stand after five minutes. When we asked to speak with the manager, the "manager" told us maintenance was working on the pipe issue, but that she couldn't move us because the hotel was already fully booked. Then I asked for a refund because the hotel has a satisfaction guarantee, but she told us we didn't qualify for the refund because our room was booked through a third-party. Additionally, the woman admitted she lied and was NOT a manager, and therfore was not authorized to do a refund anyway. She told us managers did not work on weekends (even though it was a Friday) and that we would have to wait until Monday to argue for a refund. About an hour later, the pretend manager finally told us that she cancelled someone else's reservation so we could take their room. This room was right next to the noisy elevator , but at least it was on the top floor and didn't have any weird pipe sounds.
For the time and stress I spent dealing with issues, I regret not booking at the hotel next door.
