Considering the moderate cost, this Hampton Inn is a very solid value. It's located adjacent to a highway (3 or 4 lanes each way), with a car dealer across the street. It doesn't offer a desirable view, and there isn't anything useful or interesting within walking distance. But Alexandria's Old Town is just a mile away, and if you are attending a conference in National Harbor (as I was), it's a 6 min drive to the Plateau public lot by the Gaylord convention center. The staff was friendly (though cleaning regularly ignored the "no service" sign I put on the doorknob). Parking is extra (but not too expensive), which seemed a bit strange since you really need a car to make the most of the location. I will happily come here again if business takes me to the area.

I always enjoy when I stay at this hotel...the 24 hour coffee and tea as well as the hot chocolate bar and complimentary water. But what I did not like is that they now charge for parking and they held 75.00 on my credit card for the deposit.

Clean hotel with spacious common areas for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast offerings. I like a firm mattress and these were fine. Location is adjacent to Old Town Alexandria and walkable on well-lit walking/biking trails (1.3 mile to King St) but it requires crossing large highway which can be done safely ( but maybe not at midnight like we did!). The requirement to pay for parking separately was annoying. The front of the hotel faces on the large highway which is not beautiful but the back looks out over park/wetlands.

This is a very run of the mill hotel. Nothing fancy. Nothing to stand out from anywhere else. The food was typical. I had to pay $10, separate from hotel rate, just to park in the parking lot. The room rate was too much for the fact that I felt as if I was in a Motel 6.

Naheed checked us in, she was extremely proficient at her job, she walked me through the pay for parking on my phone and made sure I received my discount for parking. The entire staff was friendly and helpful when ever we needed them. The hotel was decorated for the holidays which was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again.
