Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, ground level. One of two apartments that make up the carriage house on this 1700’s era historical property. This unit has a full kitchen and a washer/dryer, large smart TV, and an adorable, comfy reading nook. Updated appliances along with a small electric fireplace for ambiance (not wood due to guest safety) provide for a wonderful stay in Old Town on the oldest functioning property in Old Town, dating back to 1750. The charm and location are incomparable.

Fabulous location
Clean and had all of the essentials. Close to restaurants, historical sites. Comfy bed, but parking in this walkable city is tough to find. We would definitely stay again and take the water taxi across the river to DC.

This is a historic property which has been turned into a comfortable studio apartment. The best part is that you literally step outside your door and you’re in the heart of Old Town. The host was very accessible when I needed help getting in. It was a great weekend getaway.

So perfect! I booked this property for a short work trip. I wanted a place that was close enough to my office, but still had (walkable) things to do while not at work. I was not disappointed! I was super close to all of the shops and restaurants on King St., and a very short walk to the waterfront. The apartment itself was so cozy, and perfect for a solo trip or a trip for a couple. The owners were very kind and prompt with their communications with me. 100% will book again if I'm ever in the area :)

Carriage house
The carriage house is perfectly located by all the shops and restaurants downtown. It has a great courtyard that is shared with the oldest inhabited property in Alexandria with a couple of fire pits and lots of comfortable seating. The host was more than accommodating and easily accessible. Definitely recommend.

This place was everything I could want in a cozy, historic hideaway right by all the shops and restaurants in Old Town, but just off the beaten path, so it was both comfortable and convenient. Floyd does Old Town
Cozy, well thought out Studio Apartment with everything you need in a great location two blocks from the Potomac River Cruises and Water Taxi and a couple minutes walk to multiple top notch restaurants. Short walk to the Visitor Center and Market Square to catch the free Hop On Trolley to the King Street Station Metro and Amtrak Station, Thiessman's Restaurant and the path to the George Washington Masonic Memorial which is an architectural gem! I met Thomas the Owner, a wonderful human being and Super Host!

I loved everything about this place. The location is in the heart of Old Town, I never had to take a car. It was easy to check in and out and there was everything I needed in the kitchen including a Nespresso and plenty of coffee. Owner even left a basket of snacks completely free. This was clean, easy, and perfect! Thank you!!

Great location!!
One block from the waterfront, and right off King, which has everything you’ll ever need in OTX! (Except a grocery store—but those are just a few blocks away!). I just moved out of Old Town last year, so I’m biased, but Alexandria is pretty awesome. The property is super cute and priced less than area hotels. I popped in for the Parkway Classic, and was able to walk to my cheer spot, meet my friends so they could change at my place, and then walk to brunch. Everything is very accessible.

Ultimate Old Town / DC Stay
Immaculate condition, so comfortable, location is incredible. Literally 50 feet from historic King St. in Old Town Alexandria, and a 1 minute walk to the water. Restaurants and shopping everywhere in Old Town plus water taxi (ferry) to DC Wharf, National Harbor, or Georgetown. 10 minutes to downtown DC monuments, museums, etc. Safe. Owner communication perfect. Thank you! Will be back!

Fridge didn’t work. I needed to defrost and clean for it to work. Shower curtain mildewed. I cleaned and left cleaner spray. Garbage disposal inoperable Upholstery torn on chair. Missing can opener. I bought new and left. Owner did refund some. All this is minor but what is a huge issue is that at 12:30am Saturday night a middle aged male unlocked the door and let themselves in. I was with my 8yo daughter and this is not acceptable. There is no deadbolt to keep out “uninvited “ guests. Not a good experience. Never again. Not recommended.

Ouch!
Planned getaway for our anniversary. We are extremely busy and werereally looking forward to this! We received a confirmation and were looking forward to enjoying the word fireplace shown in the pictures. Was packing the car late the night before our stay and noticed an email from the property owner. Our reservation had been canceled due to a computer error?? The owner offered a “free bottle of wine” for our next visit?? He also let us know the fireplace is not real and it’s just for show…. (I.e. to entice unsuspecting customers). We sure did not need the stress of handling this - we found a nearby hotel and had a good weekend, without the assistance of the owner or VRBO. Your app requires that we rate all categories- in fairness we never saw the physical property so I gave a 3 to location and cleanliness.

Don’t stay here.
We came to Alexandria for the weekend excited to enjoy the beautiful weather and gorgeous scenery. When we arrived at the listing, another guests belongings were all over the apartment, as they had clearly not checked out hours after our check-in time. After finding that no one was present at the apartment, we called the property manager and host multiple times, to no answer. Due to prior reservations and the fact that we could not contact anyone with knowledge of the situation, we had to book a hotel after spending a pretty penny on this fraudulent listing. Even now, days later, we have not heard anything from the property manager about the situation and have requested a refund. Save yourself a headache and stay at a hotel where you won’t have to worry about trying to call a property manager in Texas about a listing in Virginia. While the location is perfect, I would give this zero stars if I could.

Cozy and close to the action!
My husband and I stayed from 10/19-11/1 and enjoyed our stay. It was steps away from King St with all the restaurants and close to the Potomac River. There are also various shops and several walking tours. I provided feedback to the owner upon our departure. The space is not “short people” friendly as the shower stream was very high and there were no mirrors that we could use as those were high as well. The bed area did not have shelves to use for our phones to be within reach and the internet was a bit spotty so it needed to be restarted throughout our stay. Overall though, we had a wonderful stay and would choose this location again should we visit in the future! Thomas was very easy to reach and always checked to see if we needed anything. We were very pleased!

Perfect space, perfect location
This rental is perfect for 1-2 guests. Has all the amenities and steps away from King Street restaurants and the water. King Street metro is about 15-20min walk. Would definitely stay here again! Thomas was also very responsive to messages.
