Cozy English Basement Guesthouse

My guesthouse is close to Fort Totten Metro Station, dining & shopping on Upshur Avenue in Petworth, and a 10 minute cab drive to the popular U Street Corridor. You’ll love my place because of easy it's access to buses and the subway. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It sleeps two comfortably with a queen size bed and twin futon sofa bed. The tree lined neighborhood is quiet. There is ample parking if you are driving a car on your trip.

Peaceful stay
This was a perfect space for just me on my short stay.The neighborhood is quiet and quaint. Teri was a great host. I even forgot my wallet and she was so gracious to mail it back to me very quickly. Highly recommend staying here.

Very nice vacation spot
About a 15 minute walk to metro which is convenient for going downtown. Small enough for 2 people to stay. I wish the kitchen had a bigger pot and a cookie sheet to use.

This apartment is very comfortable and a good value for the price. If you like to cook, the gas stove is a real plus. Fort Totten Metro Station (Red & Green lines) was an easy 12-minute walk. If you're driving, street parking was readily available in front of the apartment every day I was there. Finally, the owner provided clear instructions and even stocked the apartment with some drinks, snacks, and good coffee!

Great DC option
This was cute little place north of the city. The basement apartment had everything we needed (and more) and the neighborhood was nice and quiet with easy parking on the street right in front of the apartment. The Metro was pretty much a straight 3/4 mile walk from the apartment and very convenient to use. We never touched our car the whole week.

Second time and it feels like home
My wife and I went to see a concert and decided to stay here again. We went earlier this year and aaa thoroughly happy with our stay. When we came in we were greeted with a sense of familiarity and comfort that comes from a place that makes you feel at home. Such a great stay, highly recommended! There were metro maps, nearby restaurant recommendations and even an umbrella. Besides being very comfortable, it was a great help to have these and more to aid my partner and I as we traversed the city!

Just the right fit
We used this nice basement apartment as our base for visiting our kids and grandkids in DC. It was an easy walk to the metro and if we didn't feel like walking we could use Lyft / Uber. The room was comfy and meet our needs. The description was accurate and we were glad we stayed.
