Completed by Peabody in 2002, BedZED was designed to be the UK's first 'carbon neutral' housing development. The scheme has won a number of awards, including the Energy Globe Award 2002 in the Building and Housing Category, the Housing Design Awards 2000, and the 2003 RIBA award. It was also shortlisted for the Stirling Prize 2003, and received the Building for Life Gold Standard in 2004.
