"Very friendly staff and helpful manager. Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing. Room (deluxe) very large and provided extra bed for kids. Short 10 min walk to galle fort. Room very clean and great housekeeping. Pool towels provided. Some minor maintenance issues could do with addressing around pool (tile grouting). "

"The property never got our reservation, so showed up and no one was there. This, however, didn't appear to be Amara's fault. Ana was very apologetic and tried to make the most of it. Property is nice though, but it's more suited for a full rent out than just a couple looking for a get away."

There was a complex device for showers that did not work properly and flooded the bathroom. The towels had seen better days. There was no TV. The room was not serviced in the three days I stayed in Galle. "We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. It was our first experience at Sri Lanka. The location of Villa Tara at Hikkaduwa city is optimal - in jungle forest but in ten minutes from the beach also. "we got off the train form Colombo & showed our booking paper to our Tuk-tuk driver. He rang to get instructions as to how to find them, only to be told it was CLOSED!!!! Woopsie, but luckily he knew somewhere."

"We loved everything about this house and the marvelous staff. The house is set in a stunning garden with a spotless pool right on the beach at Gintota. The hpuae is beautifully appointed with 4 lovely bedrooms, a lounge, dining room and tv room. The staff were excerional and catered to all our needs. "Really nice property on fantastic beach. Helpful staff. The only think to be aware of is that the Villa is on a main road, and very close to the railway line which is very noisy throughout the night and did rather spoil our stay. Also on 3 of the days we stayed there we wedding events or birthday parties going on very close which totally spoilt the tranquillity of the place."

"Hikkaduwa Beach Hotel is located right on the beach, the ocean is just a step away. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The restaurant is open for limited time frames but room service is available throughout the day. Loved the view from our room, to get the sea view you have to book premium sea view. Comfortable beds and pillows. The staff was courteous and helpful. The Wi-Fi was spotty especially during peak usage but the view, the sea, sun and sand make up for it. Food service maybe slow at peak times but you need to understand that food is made to order and NOT premade. Breakfast is a delicious spread of Sri Lankan and Western dishes, with a good selection of breads, fruits and juices. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality at Hikkaduwa Beach Hotel."

Great hotel on the beach.

"Enjoyed our one night stay at this beach hotel. We had a lovely sea facing room with a balcony . Breakfast was buffet style and had a wide variety of food. The hotel has a small infinity pool and beach loungers with shade. We appreciated being able to order food and drink from the beach. The hotel has a gym and spa and friendly staff. Only slight downside, the hotel is a little out of the main town. Overall, a great place to relax."
