"The house is an older property in a quiet, established neighborhood. It is very clean and well appointed, everything worked as it should, and we were very comfortable there. Manapouri is a small community, which we preferred over all the tourism in Te Anou. We were quite happy to make the 15 min commute up to join in the fun or go out to eat, and then return to the calm of Manapouri when we were done. Lake Manapouri is just lovely!"

"Enjoyed 4 nights here. Geraldine has supplied the apartment with everything we needed and then some. The bed was super comfortable, the neighborhood very quiet, the location to the lake trail very convenient and the laundry right in the apt was so helpful. We had the pleasure of meeting Geraldine and her husband and they were very hospitable. I highly recommend this place."

"The lodge is located in a very remote location, despite of getting groceries are so inconvenient, Blake showed great generosity and hospitality to all the guests, make us feel like staying in an old friend's house. Kitchen, bathroom, and bed linen are of 5-stars clean. If you're planning to go on the Hump Ridge Track, choose Rarakau Lodge for your pre-departure accommodation is definitely the best option. "

"Our family of four had a fantastic stay at Welcome Home Cottage. It is in a nice and quiet location and the house is great. Very cosy (can imagine it is great in winter!) with everything, and more, that you need. A short walk to the lake and the shopping area (café, restaurant/bar, takeways, a very interesting second hand shop, and the wee bookshop.We picked up groceries in Te Anau on the way. Plenty of cooking equipment at the cottage and a big BBQ. We got delicious fish/seafood and chip at the Travelling Chippy one night.We stayed four nights and did tours at Doubtful and Milford Sound. Staying at Manapouri was great for both and having gone to Te Anau a couple of times for supplies and activities we much preferred peaceful Manapouri location.Myell was a great host, providing us with all the info we needed and the check in/out process is simple."

"This place is very minimalist. It had enough room for all of us with 3 bedrooms and a sleep out. The sleep out was half the garage and had an ensuite. It was sufficient but small. Not really enough plates for the amount of people that can stay. The glasses were in need of a bit of cleaning as well. It needs a little attention. "

"We had a wonderful stay at Possum Lodge - much more than we expected! We booked one of the family cottages - cottage 2. As others have noted, it’s rustic, yet charming. We felt it was a good size for the three of us and the amenities were good. Best part was the surrounds - very well maintained and beautiful garden, set amongst native trees and right next to the lake. We had afternoons where we just chilled outside. The Church and the local cafe were both 5 minutes walk away, and we frequented both and enjoyed our meals. Would happily recommend this to anyone that like to be off the beaten track a bit. "

"Dining at the restaurant was a real treat and surperb. Food was fantastic and satisfied both adults and growing teenage boy. Massive meals, highly recommend the sausage platter and share for two. Yet get to try 4 different flavours with the best chips ever. When you see locals coming in and ordering take home meals - you know its good."
