Maalaea Banyans 411 - Modern Renovation, Direct Ocean Front, Incredible View, AC

The Maalaea Banyans AOAO that the building elevator will be replaced starting on or around January 27th, 2025. This project is expected to be completed at the end of April. The elevator will not be available at all during this construction.

Sleep to the sound of the lapping surf on the shore below Maalaea Banyans 411, which features forever, spectacular penthouse level ocean views from the living room and lanai. Located beach front adjacent to picturesque Maalaea Harbor, this property has a stretch of soft, sandy beach and a vibrant snorkeling reef right out front. Watch turtles and whales (in season) meander by, and enjoy a refreshing fresh-water swim at the ocean front pool.

Ideally and centrally located between Kihei and Lahaina, this property creates a totally immersive ocean experience, steps from the elevator. The condo features cable, AC in the living room, and WiFi, a kitchen set up to prepare and serve your private tropical feast, and a lanai from which to savor the legendary Maui sunsets, or just relax to the rhythm of the ocean below. Permit-only guest parking.

The unit sleeps four in consummate style, with two nicely separated bedrooms; one upstairs, one down. There is an AC unit in the living room, but not in either bedroom. The unit enjoys cooling from the trade winds blowing through the center of the island off of the ocean. Two blocks away, Maui's world-renowned Aquarium, several great restaurants, ice cream, coffee, and other “essentials” await. Don't miss the new 3D whale experience at Maui Ocean Center. Also, there is excellent hiking less than a half mile away, across the west Maui mountains, where captivating ocean views await. Explore one of the island's best-kept secret beaches (except for the locals) a few hundred yards up the shoreline from the property.

This immaculate property, managed by Vacation-Maui, is complete with beach gear, including beach chairs, beach towels, a beach umbrella, and a small cooler. Due to back-to-back bookings, cleaning, and maintenance schedules, early check-ins and late checkouts cannot be accommodated at this time. If you have a late flight out, we recommend booking an extra night to accommodate your schedule. Mahalo for understanding.

Perfect location
Perfect location to explore rest of island. Aquarium within walking distance. Had a couple minor issues, management was right on it. Really should have handrails on stairway going up to upper bedroom and should have a pullout sofa bed that is a little more user friendly.

Great ocean front condo
The condo presented exactly like the pictures. I love Maalaea because it's quiet, on the bay and really centrally located. We treated our son and nephew for their high school senior trip. They lived the lift room and having their own bathroom, the views, breakfast on the lanai and Maui never disappoints. It's walking distance to sugar beach, the aquarium, the harbor and a few shops and restaurants. Great spot!

Had a great time staying here. Location isn't great. Kihei and Kaanapali are the main beach areas. Unit was very clean. Room can get a little warm as there is no AC in bedrooms. Area is quiet and peaceful. Good if you plan day trips out.

This location was a great launching point to explore the island. We visited all the major beaches and explored all the sights. Being centrally located really helped. Plus we were able to watch whale and turtle activity from the balcony. Condo was as described and the property was very quiet and clean. We would stay again.

Location was centrally located and close to the airport. The view was breathtaking with lots of whale sightings. Just be sure to check for beaches and other activities that need reservations prior to going. Drove for two hours on the Road to Hana just to get turned around because we didn’t have reservations. Overall great vacation.

Was a perfect central location if you want to hit all sides of the island. this will be your best choice,15 to 20 minutes will get you to North, south, and west maui. Amazing little beach just past the condo at the end of the road has Amazing views for the sunrise. Fyi no access to the back of the grounds of the condo till 7am

Vacation of a lifetime
We have never been to Hawaii before. This was our first time… and it was amazing! Our stay at this VRBO made it very easy and accommodating. It was well decorated and updated with the most wonderful views. I woke up early everyday before my family and sat on the baloney and watched for whales. It was my favorite part of the day! We spent most of our days over in Kihei with our friends, which was only a 12 minute drive. The neighborhood is welcoming and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view and quiet neighbourhood
This was our first time in Maui and this centrally located condo was a perfect jumping point for adventures. The neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful and we loved the pool and and condo amenities very much. The condo is walking distance to restaurants, beach and harbour. We enjoyed snorkeling and watching sea turtles and whales off our balcony! Beautiful decor and well equipped kitchen. The washer/dryer were handy and there was a closet full of beach supplies! Highly recommend!

Great Stay
Very nice condo with all the amenities you could possibly need. The highlight of the unit is the Lanai looking right out over the ocean. Amazing! We would eat breakfast watching the turtles right at the edge of the property. The location of the unit is a short drive to any where on the island. The management company was very helpful with any questions and readily accessible. Great unit made for a great holiday.

Perfect Location
The location in which this condo sits on the island is perfect for exploring both sides. You are pretty much in the center which makes it very convenient to exploring everything. The views from the balcony were amazing. The amenities are exactly as mention in the description. The only thing to mention, the loft bathroom shower is quite small and the master room doesn't get the best AC circulation. Other then that the place is great

Honestly really wonderful. Some things we loved: - The modern updates. - The View - The Sea Turtles - The Pool - No bugs - Great communication! Some things we didn’t love: - That the dryer took hours upon hours to dry and MAYBE your clothes were dry. - No storage for suit cases. - Although having the air conditioner was nice, it was very loud and condo still felt warm! Overall 10/10 would stay again!

Really great place in a central location
Really great place in a central location (20 min to Kihei, 20 min to Kahului, 30 minutes to Lahaina) with a gorgeous, unobstructed oceanfront view. Balcony faces SSE so no direct sun in morning or afternoon. Got to see lots of turtles swimming past the building every afternoon. They provide beach chairs, beach towels and an umbrella, which were all very much appreciated. Rental company was very responsive too.

The pictures are deceiving. The building is very rundown. The elevator is over a year expired on being serviced. The patio door is loud and very hard to open/ broken track, we had grandma with us and had to open it for her it was so hard.You cant have food unless its in the fridge because they have a infestation of ants and they are bad if there's any food. Alot of the dishes we pulled out of drawers and knife block were put away with food stuck to them. Water pressure is terrible making it hard to remove sand from your hair. Pool /beach access closes at 9pm. Overpriced. mediocre and not worth what we paid. There are tons of homeless living on the road right behind the parking lot and the parking lot smells like sewer everytime you go to your vehicles.great view from patio and saw turtles on beach. Amazing ocean views
This property was just as pictured on Vrbo. It was a beautiful spot to wake up in the morning and watch the whales breaching while enjoying a coffee on the deck. It was a quiet resort which was nice to come home to after a busy day out exploring the island. We found the pool area to be challenging for our 3 young children (10, 7 & 4) to fully enjoy in the way their age category likes to play in a pool as the property managers were very quick to tell them to not jump, splash, be loud or play any games in the pool (eg “Marco Polo”) on several occasions. It just felt very unrealistic, unfriendly and not very welcoming. The small sandy beach with rocky water access right in front of the property made for easy access to snorkelling (seeing lots of turtles!), paddle boarding and kayaking. Other than the property managements “passive aggressive” nature, we really enjoyed our vacation at this location.

Amazing
We had an amazing time. The correspondence was incredible and prompt. Definitely recommend! Do not recommend bringing loud children as this seems to be an area where older adults stay. We had a noise complaint as we had a son with autism who occasionally has outbursts. It was hard to keep our children quiet even when they were just excited and squealing. That would be my only complaint. Thank you so very much for the lasting memories, Todd.
