"Hele lieve mensen, alleen is dit geen hostel maar een plek waar Chinezen op een kluitje wonen op zoek naar een baan. Niemand spreekt Engels. Het is zeker een manier om te ontdekken hoe het merendeel van de Chinezen in Shanghai leven. Maar ik ben blij dat ik een andere plek heb gevonden, wat zeker niet makkelijk was zonder internet of toegang tot Googlemaps."

"In the 'real' Shanghai beneath the high-rise buildings, seeing people as they go about their day, back from main roads. AC was a it strong, especially in the bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially Tao and May. Some maps/brochures/helpful tourist information would be good. I would recommend this place to anyone."

"It was my nightmare staying in this place. After checked in we found everything old and lack of maintenance. My room was on the second floor, no elevetor for our heavy luggages. The room has no window. no ventilation, not big enough for two people to use even, smells of tuilet, moldy washroom. The worst was above the door, there was a small window with bars and a curton but no class to block any noise in the hallway. So we got two sleepless nights out of three night stay. One front desk girl was...

"It isn’t more than advertised, you get what you pay for. The service level was good, very attentive. Close quarters, but kept tidy and clean. I was on a quick 18hr stay and really Conley came here for a quick nap and shower. If you’re intending to stay for a longer time, it may not be the best choice in terms of comfort."

"Next to very well connected People's Square metro station which can take you to almost everywhere in Shanghai. Walking distance to interesting places such as museums and Nanjing Road East shopping street.Hotel is spacious and clean. "

"What can i say...its the Shangri La...world famous hotel. The hotel from checking in to the staff was first class. We stayed a few days for a double celebration....daughters birthday and our wedding anniversary. Told them in advance and they decorated our room for our daughter with balloons and a cake, and for anniversary they gave us towel swans. Lovely touch. They collected our luggage and took it up to our room after checking in. Seamless process. The check in desk was super helpful and quick to get is checked in. The hotel itself is stunning and only a short walk from the Pearl TV Tower. Would highly recommend if you want to visit that side of the river. Very affordable rates too over the weekend that we stayed. Asked the concierge for booking a larger car for our ride to the airport. He called up and sourced us a larger car. Cheaper than Didi too. So consider asking for their services if you have a lot of luggage and prams"
