The reviews about this place are very misleading. We booked a twin room with private bathroom. The room was freezing cold on arrival, there was nothing but 2 beds in there with one of the mattresses being in extremely bad condition, you could see the whole thing sagging through the metal bed frame (and feel that through the night!). We had to ask for towels and bed sheets, these were provided promptly but of very poor quality with holes in the sheets. One of the bedspreads was damp also. The water in the bathroom was ice cold both in the evening and morning and there was hardly any water coming out of the tap. We stayed one night because it was late and we didn't want to look for a new place in the middle of the night. After an extremely uncomfortable night we decided to leave. The staff tried to help and provided us with an ancient heater that took the worst of the chill off the room but that didn't make the room less disgusting and horrible. Also although they helped when we saw them it wasn't always easy to find someone to help, when we left the next day we waited at reception but no-one was about, so we just left the keys on the desk. The room needs deep cleaning and completely new furniture. Maybe we were unlucky and there are better rooms available but wouldn't recommend this to anyone, we easily found a better place for just a few more dinar.

Low price, but also the average comfort level
The staff was hospitable, breakfast was satisfactory. The location is quite convenient. Prices are nice. Good wi-fi signal was only at the reception. The windows were blown by the wind, so it was chilly to sleep.

Basic Hotel Close to Petra
More like a hostel than a hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and close to mint restaurants and cafes. A great base for exploring Petra as it’s only a mile away. Rooms are a bit rough around the edges but clean and comfortable.

best option to stay in petra on a low budget
The hotel staff is helpful and kind, they have good contacts and can help you plan your tours further. The rooms are basic but really clean and hygienic. Washrooms are clean as well. The common area is a nice place to sit and make friends. Nice bunch of people come and stay there. Best part, there's a few months old kitty in the common area who will keep on running around and come to you at some point. She's so adorable and little. Sabaa has my high recommendations for those who have a tight budget and are looking for a place too fancy but will all the basic necessities and in a central location.

Good location and affordable
Great friendly and helpful staff and owners. Great dog mascot Betsy. Great central location, up the street to the bus station and only 25 min walk downhill to Petra entrancce. Very affordable room prices and packed lunch. Our room unfortunately felt a bit dark and damp, on the bottom floor at the back. (Towels wouldn't dry). My feet hit the foot board of the bed. And when you stand in the shower the curtain keeps touching your body.

Budget Backpackers Hotel
I was there from short 1 night stay, it is about a 15-20 minute walk from Petra park, getting back, you are better off with a taxi, about 2-3JD one way, haggle!!! The place is family run, only cash. The rooms are okay for a short stay, but beware of you are not used to the cold, it is cold everywhere, in the lobby and in the room, only option is room heater. Overnights can be cold in Wadi Musa. The breakfast was sufficient, the packable lunch for 3.5JD is a good option especially since Petra can be expensive. Internet is available only in the lobby area and is slow.
