"If you want a 5 star top notch resort away from the bigger city tourist trap, don't think twice and book this hotel. You will not regret your decision. The food is excellent and on par or slightly lower than you would pay in Los Angeles or other large cities. There is a small town Stalis 1.6km or 1 mile away with great bars and restaurants all along the beach with little shops, and markets, which offer a nice change of scenery and break up the routine from the resort a bit to go grab a local greek dinner. The resort staff is very friendly grom check-in to the beach team to the restaurants. This area of Crete is best for folks wanting to relax and stay close to the resort in my opinion as the other main attractions in form of the famous southern island beaches are over 3.5 hours away and the next bigger city Chania is also about 2.5 hours away. For people wanting to go to those cities and places a hotel closer to those spots is better. However, the Abaton is modern and a rare find and in a class of its own and truly makes for a nice relaxing vacation with its own small sand beach, with plenty of sunchairs, the lively Buddah beach bar and huge pool that easily accommodates the people at the hotel with grrat music and the backdrop of ocean waves and wave sounds. Super happy with the hotel and worth every penny. Great and many different room size and layout choices. Book it !!!! "

"While some reviews are negative, that was not our experience at all. We have been to many all inclusive resorts and this may have been our favourite: amazing ocean view, updated rooms, buffet options, water park. We were given an upgrade on our room - from a deluxe suite with pool to a bungalow with pool and ocean view. The pool was so relaxing and beautiful, I would say we spent half of our time there. We did the all inclusive package and were not disappointed- the options at the buffet were plentiful, fresh, and delicious. However, all inclusive in Europe is different than all inclusive in the Caribbean - included drinks end at 11:30 pm, you can only dine at ala carte restaurants if you want to pay or if you stay a minimum 4 nights (one ala carte meal is included), not all the bars include your drinks (we were at the waterpark and got two bottles of water and were asked for our room number to charge them to, which was fine), 3 meals are served per day at designated times, and there is a small snack bar- but nothing crazy. The shuttle from the airport is not included and costs €85 each way by taxi and takes about 60 mins. Everyone was friendly and helpful! We spent an afternoon in town (€8 euro taxi from the hotel) and it was even better - the people, the shopping, cannot say good enough things about the people of Crete/ Agios Nikolaos. Nothing is crazy overpriced and they are happy when you are happy! Would love to return. Thank you for an unforgettable vacation!"

"Everything was amazing: the quick and friendly check-in, the helpful staff member who escorted us to our room with the luggage, and the room with the hot tub was clean, comfortable, and perfect for large families – probably one of the best family rooms I've stayed in. I was initially concerned about the salty water in the pools, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The check-out process was also quick, and the kind front desk lady was very accommodating with my late check-out request."

"Minos Palace is a gorgeous property with wonderful staff and top notch service. The hotel was able to arrange a taxi for us from and to the airport. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room with a nicer sea view, received a very warm welcome with a welcome drink and tour of the hotel. The food is excellent, every staff member is very friendly and attentive, and the amenities were fantastic - spa, restaurant, lounge area with live music & DJ, pool, beach, and wellness activities like yoga and sound baths. It's also a short walk to the town. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting, and would easily stay here again. "It is one of the most beautiful places we've had the great fortune to experience, and it is so beautiful that we didn't leave the resort during our entire 3-day stay. From start to finish, every detail was considered, and every need was taken care of. The team is welcoming and kind, and the location is absolutely stunning. While visiting with my partner (our kids left at home), we were keenly aware of how family-friendly the resort is, a pro for the many happy groups around us. If you plan to visit in May as we did, know the water will be fresh (!), and private pools might be too chilly to truly enjoy - though they'll still offer the perfect backdrop for some of the best photos you may ever take! We highly recommend Daios Cove."
