We stayed at this property for a girls weekend. The home had a lot of space for us - plenty of beds and 2 full bathrooms. It was a very plain home, with great potential, but had a nice shower and bathroom with heated floors. The view was beautiful. All the bedrooms are upstairs, and bathrooms are on the main floor - that was a drawback for me. No railings on the stairs either. The stairs and railings on the front porch should be more solid as well.
Great as a home base while visiting Viroqua. Just close enough to easily go in and out of town, but out far enough to feel isolated and in nature. Nice views of the farm and the hills. Everything was easy getting in and out. Thank you!

Unpleasant experience
The house it located on an older farm on a gravel road. The rains had recently washed out the sides of the road. The driveway is grassed over, so we weren't sure exactly where to park. The barn and small shed were somewhat well kept, but there was older machinery around these buildings that created an unappealing look.
The house itself is old and has a musty smell from not having air conditioning or the windows opened every once in a while. The shower in the smaller bathroom had hair in the tub and drain. The bath tub in the larger bathroom had what appeared to be blue cleaner, leaking out of the spout. When we tried to turn the hot water faucet on, the handle came off and was unfixable/unusable. When we turned on the sink faucet, the water was brown at first, more than likely from it not having been run in a while due to older pipes. The toilets had a lot of hard water stains in them. The outlet located on the kitchen island was broken and exposed.
For these reason, we chose not to stay here for the 3 nights we had booked. Thankfully, we were able to find a hotel instead. We were refunded less than half of our entire payment as compensation.
Great place to stay. Clean and had everything we needed. Loved the covered porch and the spacious yard. (Where we spent most of our time just relaxing or playing bags) . Definately recommend!!
Lizzy&Jake's Amish Farmhouse was perfect for what we needed for the week...all 6 siblings gathered to help our brother build out his Barnhouse. The farmhouse was conveniently located dead center between town and his farm and accommodated us all with just the right sleeping arrangements and kitchen facilities to fix breakfast and dinner. We loved the ambiance both inside and outside the farmhouse - the moo cows at night while we were eating dinner on the porch were a hoot and reminded us of our grandma's farm growing up; the morning sunrises while enjoying coffee on that same porch were beautiful as were the breathtaking sunsets. As late as we worked on our brother's barnhouse, Jake worked later until the sunlight was no more. Loved the Amish "traffic" each night and even found the local Amish farmhouses selling gorgeous handmade furniture and such. We would come back in a heartbeat!! Highly recommend.
My family of 7 (2 adults, 2 teens, and kids down to 3 years old) stayed here over the 4th of July. Lots of room to spread out and lots of room for family game night and movie night. As said before, not a lot of extra furnishings, but that means less places for the littles to lose their things. The little girls loved the cows being right on the property.
We had a great time during our stay. There were four adults plus our two pooches. The check in was super easy, and the instructions Lizzy sent were spot on. Jake, Lizzy’s husband (and Bruce the dog who we loved), was super responsive when we had an ant issue, and the problem was resolved with the ant traps he brought over. We had no further issues, and Jake was super nice. I love that the property is a working organic farm, and seeing the farm animals everyday was an added benefit. While at the property we spent most of our time on the front porch which overlooks the beautiful countryside. The sunsets were stunning and the stars at night were amazing! The few people we saw traveling on the road past the property always greeted us with a smile and a wave. The accommodations in the home were basic, but if you’re looking for an easy no frills escape to the country in a beautiful little town this is the place for you.
We spent a very relaxing weekend here in this wonderfully large farmhouse filled with character and charm. We met the smiling friendly owner as he was finishing planting his fields. We spotted wildlife of all sorts and wet a line in some local trout streams.
Beautiful property with rustic farm house vibes minutes away from downtown Viroqua. Perfect place for a weekend getaway or those who enjoy fly fishing!
Although very spartan in its decoration, this house has everything you need and nothing you don't. Perfect location for our group of guys fishing in the Driftless. Close to Viroqua, which is a great little town, and centrally located to numerous creeks and streams. We'll be back.
Lizzy was a great host and responsive. The house was clean, Coll working farm vibe that was enjoyed by all. The large open porch was a bonus with the beautiful weather! Thanks
