I enjoyed my stay, but it was overshadowed by the fact that I was charged twice for my hotel room and still have not been reimbursed. I originally had a hotel room booked at the historic Cavalier hotel. The day before my stay, I received 2 voice mail messages and 2 e-mails from Expedia explaining that I needed to call them to book a room at another hotel. The Cavalier was having A/C issues in some rooms. The only communication from the actual hotel itself concerning this was an e-mail stating that my reservation had been cancelled. I called Expedia and spent an hour and 40 minutes on the phone trying to book a room elsewhere. I got the room, showed up to check in, and realized later on that I had been billed twice. Unbeknownst to me, the Cavalier had booked a room for me already at Embassy Suites. When I rebooked the room through Expedia, I ended up getting charged twice. The first 45 minutes of my hotel stay were spent on the phone with Expedia dealing with this. It has been 4 days, and Expedia is still getting no information from the Cavalier and the hotel is saying that they refuse to reimburse me at this time. This has all been so upsetting, especially as I need the money that was taken from my account. The lack of communication from the Cavalier is disappointing, along with the lack of accountability concerning this issue.
