"A great week spent at Claires quiet and tranquil village house. Ideally located for a visit to the WW2 historical sites. Deceptively spacious, clean and with secure off road parking. Local supermarket only 2km away at Cruelly. Proved to be ideal for us touring the area on motorcycles. A little investment in some comfortable furniture would make it the perfect holiday spot. "We very much enjoyed our recent stay in Ryes! The house is charming and well-equipped, and was the perfect location for exploring Bayeux and the D-Day beaches and museums. The host, Alexandre, shared information about the area, left plenty of instructions for how the house/appliances work, and responded quickly to my messages. "The town was a ghost town with a majority of the commerce and many homes shut for the season. But that meant no lines at the few places that were open. Our visit’s focus was the D Day history and we found those areas open and welcoming."

"The layout of the home was a bit odd - in that the toilets are actually "in" 2 of the bedrooms. Although it was a bit of a surprise at first, we adapted! The space was outstanding and very roomy. The kitchen was well equipped and beautiful. But the deck on Gold Beach was just incredible. The feeling we had when we first walked out on it and saw the mulberries right there, it was heart wrenching. We enjoyed this property immensely! We were 3 couples traveling together. "We went to Normandy to bike (rented bikes from Locvélo in Bayeux), play a bit of golf and visit a few interesting sites. All were in close proximity. We stopped in Rouen on the way and on the way back. Great trip"
