"Great hotel in a fantastic location with wonderful views of the valley and griffon vultures circling above the cliffs opposite. No restaurant meals on Wednesday as the chef has a day off but the bar menu was a fine alternative. It's a bit tricky to reach the hotel as the village's roads a very narrow and steep but it's not a problem with a little care."

"This was a convenient functional stop for a Bilbao ferry the next morning. (Approx 2hrs) The guesthouse adjacent to the bar/cafe was warm and clean, well kept no-frills accommodation and served the purpose. There’s an ample parking area next to the bar & guesthouse when you turn off the main road, although it is not private. "Our room overlooked a noisy busy main road and there was a railway line behind the hotel. There was no air conditioning in our room. We were told the bar would not open until 8.30. We couldn't book a table in the restaurant because a coach party was booked in but if there was room they would try to fit us in. There were no alternatives within walking distance. The photos of the hotel are very misleading. I wouldn't be surprised if they had been photo-shopped!"

"Al ver las fotos esperábamos estar en una casa con una chimenea muy bonita, pero cuando llegamos nos dijeron que la chimenea no se podía usar, que estaba anulada. Además de la foto, la casa sale cuando buscas casas en Frías con chimenea. Deberían corregir esto y eliminar la foto del dosier de la casa. Por lo demás, la casa muy bonita y bien equipada, y la zona tiene una muy merecida visita."

"Lovely hotel. Not sure it warrants four stars, but very friendly and clean. One thing, the windows open outwards with the opening starting only 6 inches from the floor on the third floor with a nothing to stop someone falling out. I have a photo but cant upload. Sorry."
