"Umm can I live here?! Honestly one of the most beautiful, thoughtful and just delightful places I’ve ever stayed. The guesthouse has been renovated to perfection (you can tell love went into every detail), located in an absolutely stunning and peaceful area. The family who owns and runs this property is amazing. I so enjoyed getting to know the manager, who is a very impressive young woman! One of the major highlights of my six weeks in Portugal! Cannot recommend Casa do Santo highly enough "

"This was my 3rd time staying at QdLR, yet I think this is my first review of the property(?). This is a solid gem in Pinhão. Although about 0.5 km from the town, the location means it is quiet. Wonderful, spacious room, excellent restaurant, and scrumptious breakfast, not to mention great wines and ports from the on-site winery. I had the trip from hell to get here and arrived late. "We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta da Marka! It was beautiful and on such a picturesque spot along the river. It was so relaxing and a restful spot for our honeymoon. The train station is nearby to get to other cities if you wanted to, otherwise it is quite isolated in this area. Walking over to Quinta do Crasto for a wine tasting & tour was a highlight of the area too! The Quinta offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner which was very convenient. "Wonderful stay. The view is amazing. Smaller vineyard compared to the big and more popular wineries in the area, which is what we like. The drive up is beautiful. About 35 minutes from Pinhao downtown. Moises greeted us and gave us the tasting tour. We didn’t expect to learn such an amazing family history of the people and the farm. Filipa brings us wonderful organic breakfast to our door every morning. You can see her working around the farm from early morning."

"Directions to the property were poor; when we eventually found it, no-one was there. Fortunately we found a neighbour who contacted the owner's representative, and we gained entry about an hour later. The house had not been prepared, not cleaned etc. The bed arrangements were unsatisfactory: the 'master' bedroom had two single beds pushed together - I have never slept in such an uncomfortable bed. Three of the single beds were on upstairs landings, and so children did not get to sleep...

"Correu bem, deixo apenas dois apontamento relativamente ao sofá da sala, não é muito confortável e quanto ao aquecimento, o apartamento era muito amplo e o aquecimento demorou muito tempo até aquecer minimamente a sala e o quarto ( a janela deixa entrar o ar frio). Uma nota final, o apartamento dizia vista rio, e efetivamente eu tinha vista de um bocadinho de rio, e não frente rio como tinha solicitado (este foi o ponto que mais me desiludiu)."

Excellent stay in family home overlooking river

"We had an incredible stay here, highly recommend. Family home, staff are attentive and responsive and very helpful. Unbelievable views from the balcony overlooking the Douro river and the valley. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom was giant and parking behind a gated fence so very secure and safe. Great breakfast that comes included and nice lounge area to relax in over a glass of their welcome port. Overall, we loved our time and would absolutely be back."

"The staff at this property were outstanding. It was raining when we were there, but in good weather, the outside patios would have been lovely. It's a bit of a walk into town, but we were a group of four seniors and we managed fine. We took a cab back up to the property. After a long day of travelling, we loved the quietness that this property provided."

"This is my second time staying at the property and it was the same magical experience. This time around I just wanted to relax and enjoy the property. And that I did! I spent my days enjoying the trails, in enjoying the multiple fireplaces on the property. And of course the dinner. The food wine and port made for an unforgettable stay. "
