Another great stay
For us this place is a little slice of heaven, secluded in nature with a stunning view and lots of privacy, yet a very short drive into town. The pool is awesome. If you like being surrounded by nature (noises of crickets and frogs at night, beautiful dark starry nights, iguanas roaming the grounds) surrounded by lush green trees, then this is the place for you.

Beautiful escape
Beautiful property a short drive outside of Esperanza. Ideal for those who appreciate being surrounded by nature and falling asleep to sound of the surrounding wildlife. The property manager was awesome and super responsive. Great to have the pool, deck with beautiful views, and the grill. Would come back.

Beautiful place for family retreat
We loved this property. The water view and pool are gorgeous, the garden areas are full of beautiful flowers and birds. Kids had a great time searching for hermit crabs and iguanas. Kitchen was well stocked. Joey the host was very helpful and kind

We loved Oreanda!
Traveling with our adult children was the perfect place for us to stay. The property was very clean and homey. The country side location and views are spectacular. The best part was the great service we received from the property manager. He graciously assisted us and brought over an iron and arranged for forgotten items to be delivered. We would love to go back someday!

Great spot for 6
We booked the entire property and it worked great for our party of 6. We loved having our own pool! The space with big house and both Casita's really worked well for our group. The town is short drive away as were a number of wonderful beaches. Tyler was very very helpful in picking us up at the airport, if needed, and driving us to the Rental Car place. We rented 2 jeeps, which I would highly recommend, as the roads are quite rough. Tyler went over everything in the house and responded quickly to any questions or issues we had. We did find the Mosquitoes to be quite bad. So be prepared! The Bio-Bay was not to be missed. We had a great time and would recommend this property.

Unique and gorgeous property!!
Our family of seven adults LOVED our Thanksgiving trip to Oreanda. This is a very special place with the three casitas which offer togetherness and privacy in an incredible nature paradise.. It is a world unto itself or a base for island exploration. We loved being able to dip into the refreshing pool all day and enjoy beverages on the terrace in the morning and during the sunsets. The outdoor cooking facilities are quite nice and we grilled some Caribbean lobsters one night for a special meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the sights and sounds of the tropics all around us and especially at night. The on site host, Tyler, is an invaluable asset. He patiently and helpfully responded to all our texts and our vacation was much better for his suggestions. We also rented two 4 runners from the owner for our beach explorations and town runs. Highly recommend this vacation property with its many amenities and unusual setting!!!

Just Perfect
This casita is just perfect. We found the entire process of booking as well as our stay very hospitable. The property manager Tyler is wonderful and helps with anything you need. The property itself is great and the views are amazing. We stayed in Casita Azul and it was perfect for us. We hiked down to black beach from the property and found the location to be so convenient to everything we wanted and needed. Esperanza was our go-to place for food and drinks out if we wanted to not stay at the casita. Our stay overall was amazing and we hope to return sooner rather than later!

1st Time to Vieques
Casita Verde was perfect for our 1st short little visit to Vieques. Tyler picked us up at the airport, setup our horseback ride with Esperanza Riding Company and our BioBay Tour with Taino Aqua Adventures (Alexi), gave us tips for exploring the island, and recommended eateries. Beautiful gardens at Oreanda with hummingbirds, butterflies, tree frogs, chickens, the occasional wandering horse, and mongoose. The pool was refreshing and the view great! We ate our little breakfast on the casita porch each morning before venturing out. The weather was pleasant, the island very interesting, and the rates were reasonable. We recommend staying here. We recommend you do not fly Air Sunshine (Air Sometimes) to get to Vieques.

Wonderful stay
This was my first stay at Oreanda in Casa Azul but not my first time in Vieques. Location is close to Esperanza which is, to my opinion, the best little get together town on the island. Everything seen on pictures reflects reality with its wonderful flower garden and ocean view from the pool. The 2 casitas are very cozy. It was easy to make arrangment from Stephanie at booking. Upon arrival, Tyler will easely makes you feel home. When needed, he will provide you all tourists details to make your stay memorable. Thank you. We will be back soon !

Beautiful casita
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in Rincon and Fajardo. After staying at luxurious El Conquistador, we wanted some peace and quietness before coming back to NYC. Mary and Kirk were very welcoming and really helpful, they arranged for us to rent a car with Chepito and suggested restaurants and places around. We stayed at Azul, the house is cozy and has everything you may need, they even have beach towels, beach chairs and coolers you can bring with you to the beach. Mary baked a bread and had coffee and milk for us our first day here. I think it was a great touch and it says a lot about them taking care of their guests. The house is close to El Malecon, where all the action is taking place! Many restaurants, bars, and the best beaches. Overall, we had a great stay in Vieques! If we plan to go back, we'll definitely considered staying here again :-) Thanks Mary and Kirk From: Denisse & JD

Must Stay!
If you're looking for a beautiful Vieques casita stay you've found the right place! This is a comfortable hillside home with stunning views. It's within minutes of beautiful beaches and quality restaurants and bars. The owners treat you like family and go above and beyond to share their love of the island with you. They truly made our vacation effortless and suggested many local island memories that completed our stay. Thank you, Mary and Kirk!! Looking forward to a return visit!

Paradise found.
Mary & Kirk are the consummate hosts - friendly, welcoming, unobtrusive. Their place is spectacular, they've thought of everything, and anything they haven't thought of, they'll pretty much take care of. We stayed on their property for a week and loved every second of it. There are two casitas on the property, plus their home. We stayed in "Verde" and the other is "Azul." The differences are: Azul is bigger, has more space inside and out, but the shower is outside - which I think is cool, but you might not love (the pics here are of Azul). Verde is the perfect size for two and looks out over the pool and onward to the ocean. We loved Verde and would choose it again. Each casita has a kitchenette with a sink, fridge (stocked with a few little treats and breakfast for your first morning), and a propane stove; a cooler to take to the beach; a TV with a movie collection (we didn't find that necessary); and a little lending library. There's also a big grill down by the pool, if you want to get your MEAT on. Under the grill is a stockpile of sunscreen and bugspray in case you need either. I think we went through about a bottle of the former, but needed none of the latter. It was great to get up and eat breakfast on the porch or by the pool, eventually head out to do a little exploring, have lunch at a local spot, beach it until dinner time and then come home and cook dinner. We also took a late night dip in the pool, swimming under the stars! Mary took care of so much for us - she got us a shuttle from the airport to the ferry. She helped us find a rental car and got us picked up at the ferry. She also took care of everything for my birthday planning - dinner reservations, a bio bay tour, and she sang to me as soon as she saw me and brought me chocolates. It was sweet. :) When I was an idiot and left my debit card in a restaurant in Isabel, she happened to know the owner and got it back to me even though the restaurant was closed. Kirk, on the other hand, made sure our cooler always had ice; helped us with the grill; shared so much of his knowledge about local plants and the history of both their property and of the island; and invited us to join him on a morning hike to the black sand beach - which was a totally spectacular. The other part of the hosting team - their dogs Bella, Tiger, and Harry made sure we were entertained and made us miss our pup just a little bit less.

World-class lodging with a good neighbor feel
My wife and I have traveled extensively over the years and have rarely found lodging so comfortable, hosts so accommodating and a setting so lovely. Day one we were met at the ferry, driven to our casita, welcomed there with complementary drinks and snacks, driven to and picked up from dinner in Esperanza, and provided with all the information we could possibly want. Day two began with a breakfast treat of scones...you get the idea—all at no extra charge and all offered in a friendly, gracious way. To find such service in a location of stunning views and gorgeous, nearly deserted beaches was a stroke of luck we'll not soon forget.

Will never be forgotten
The Casita Azul far outweighed our expectations. Mary and Kirk were full of such valuable information and their amazing hospitality made the trip that much better. Vieques is an amazing island with so much to see and do. Snorkeling, scuba diving, horseback riding, hiking, amazing food and of course beaches! The bio bay is another must see on your trip. The house is in a very unique, and to us, great location. It's far enough away from the little towns, so you can have peace and quiet, but it's close enough so you don't spend all your time driving either. The sunsets and star gazing were so romantic. There were times for adventures and yet time for relaxation. This place has something for everyone. We would recommend this Casita Azul to anyone thinking about staying in Vieques. Not only because the house is clean and comfortable, but because Mary and Kirk make you feel like you belong there. By the end of our trip, we felt more like a part of Mary & Kirk's family, then just tenants. The casita felt like a second home and the experiences will be remembered for a lifetime.

Vieques - Done Well
Oreanda provides the true Vieques experience. Beginning with the welcoming smiles from Mary, Kirk and their trio of awesome pups, we knew we had made a perfect lodging decision. This beautifully landscaped setting provides a balance of being on your own while enjoying the refuge of an established environmentally considerate property in west Vieques. We stayed in Casita Azul (both casitas are very similar). It's open air and well screened design, along with the convenient appointments, made for a very comfortable stay. Oreanda's location near Esperanza is secluded yet totally convenient to restaurants/markets (about a mile away) - so great. Highlights in Vieques for us: the Oreanda property itself, the Bio Bay (Mark at Island Adventures was awesome), beginner Yoga at Hix Island House (yogi Jenn is amazing), meals at Coconuts and Next Course (superb cuisine), coconut and cheese flan from a road side baker in Esperanza (splurge, it's worth it!), sunset and evening cocktails/appetizers at Duffy's (the staff is so kind), sunset cocktails at the W Hotel fire pit (a "must do"), and both Green (swim/snorkel) and Navio (bodysurfing) beaches. We chose to BBQ at Oreanda two evenings to enjoy the property, changing sunset sky by the pool, and surrounding night symphony that reminds you that Vieques is a very special place. A Piña Colada followed by a Cheeseburger never tasted so good! Our time on Vieques exceeded our expectations primarily due to the priceless advice from Mary and Kirk. Their kindness and intimate knowledge of the island helped us experience Vieques in our own unique way that easily could have been missed if we had stayed at a hotel or individual villa. As enthusiastic global travelers, this was honestly our best vacation ever - the perfect balance of adventure, local flavor, genuine hospitality, and rejuvenating relaxation. We would strongly recommend Oreanda as your Home Away from home to create your own memories on Vieques.
