"Had a lovely say this week at Chez Mathilde. It was chosen for the peace and quiet and because of the lovely cosy feel of the property. It was just the right distance for us to explore the forts and bunkers around Verdun. The gite itself, had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. Annie was lovely and made us a quiche, which was the best I have eaten. If we go back to this region again, we will defiantly be booking Chez Mathilde again."

"Property listed on site covered parking, untrue told to park on street or public lot block away. Room dirty smelled of sewerage had to open window, Cigarette burns on furniture, in general rundown condition. Booked three days only stayed one, was told by clerk refund would be given through Expedia, they would not respond to Expedia for verification. Ripped me off for two nights. Be aware of this hotel don't believe what is published "

"My tour group stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel felt a little dated, but thr excellent service from staff, and the perfect location made up for it. On site restaurant was excellent. The attached bar had a great assortment of beer. "

"It's a nicely laid out, very clean place. Easy to get in and very central. Instructions for getting in and where to park were great. The odd thing is that, effectively, it's a sort of bunker. It's ground floor, but it has no windows to the outside; only light wells at both ends. It's not a problem if you're there in winter or are out most of the time, but not good for the claustrophobic! The bathroom is large and well equipped, but en suite for both bedrooms, which was interesting! Overall, good, but be aware it's a little unusual."
