We invite you to our charming Schoenbrunn Design studio apartment for a cosy and romantic getaway in one of Vienna’s greenest and most tranquil districts – only a 20-minute walk from the beautiful Schoenbrunn Palace and Gardens. The studio is most comfortable for two guests, with a double bed in the separate bedroom, but can accommodate up to 4 guests with the pull-out sofa in the living room. The small, but well-equipped kitchen and dining area are also part of the charming and lovingly decorated living room space. The compact studio has been decorated with great attention to detail to create a bright and homey space. We hope to make you feel right at home while exploring Vienna and one of its nicest and greenest local districts, perfect for anyone wanting to experience the city’s culture whilst being close to nature. Wifi is available and provided free of charge through out the apartment. Airport shuttle can be arranged upon request.
The thirteenth district, Hietzing, is a heavily populated yet green urban area in the Western part of the city. It used to be a village, and is a beautiful area for a stroll among old villas. Whilst densely populated, almost three quarters of the district’s surface are classified as green space, including the Lainzer Tiergarten wildlife preserve and large areas of the Vienna Woods. The most notable sight of the district is the large and beautiful Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens complex, a can’t-miss on a visit to Vienna. The baroque palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural and historical monuments in the country, with a history of the Habsburg Empire spanning over 300 years. The Gardens are also home to the enchanting Schönbrunn Zoo, the oldest zoo in the entire world, dating back to 1752. Other notable sites include the 19th century Habsburg Hermesvilla Palace in the Lainzer Tiergarten, and the Klimt Villa, where the famous painter lived for the last seven years of his life, featuring a permanent exhibition of his studio – the only one of his former ateliers in Vienna.
Having kept its village feel after all these decades, the Hietzing district is still lined with mostly traditional Viennese cafés and restaurants. For a grand setting with a magnificent view, hike up to the Gloriette in the Schoenbrunn Gardens to enjoy a breakfast, cake, or simply a coffee in the Gloriette Café. Another traditional Viennese coffee house is Dommayer, which also offers outdoor seating in the summer months. For traditional Austrian cuisine, such as Tafelsplitz, head down to Plachutta Hietzing, near the Schoenbrunn complex.
The apartment is located in St. Veit Gasse, only a 20-minute walk to the Schoenbrunn Palace and Gardens. As opposed to most of Vienna’s districts, the thirteenth district has no short-term parking zone, meaning you are free to park anywhere in the district for as long as you want (exception: some main streets may fall under a short-term parking zone, please look for signs!) Just around the corner on Hietzinger Hauptstraße, you will find the tram stop (also called Hietzinger Hauptstraße) that connects you with the line 58. This takes you up until Westbahnhof, to where the city’s inner districts start. Alternatively, walk 5 minutes to the metro station Unter St. Veit, which connects you to the metro line U4 and takes you directly to the city centre in 15 minutes (get out at the end station Karlsplatz). You will find a Billa supermarket and pharmacy just around the corner.
